Opera singer. Mother. Designer. Dreamer. Between Zurich and Ibiza, Kim moves through life with grace and intention - blending rigour with romance and motherhood with a quiet kind of rebellion.

There&rsquo;s something arresting about <a href="https://www.instagram.com/kimlillianstrebel/?hl=en">Kim</a> - not just in the clarity of her voice, but in the way she lives. Trained in the exacting world of opera and now rooted between two very different orbits - the polished calm of Zurich and the wild warmth of <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/ibiza-dreamers-sarah-hardan">Ibiza</a> - she brings both precision and softness to everything she touches.
Whether performing on stage, raising two children, or crafting a thoughtful children&rsquo;s collection born of sisterhood and linen, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/kimlillianstrebel/?hl=en">Kim</a> is a study in contrast. In this conversation, she reflects on rhythm, resilience and how Ibiza taught her that belonging isn't always inherited - sometimes, it's found.

My name is Kim Lilian Troxler.
My work is my life, a unique blend of creativity, performance and caregiving. As an opera singer, I&rsquo;m devoted to vocal excellence, storytelling and emotional connection. I&rsquo;m also a mother to two young children, which fills my days with love, learning, and constant multitasking. As the wife of a well-known DJ, I&rsquo;m part of a vibrant music and entertainment world and together we navigate the balance between family life and demanding artistic careers. In addition, I design children&rsquo;s clothing - a creative outlet that merges my love for style and comfort with the practical needs of little ones. At the same time, I&rsquo;m learning to live well with Lyme disease and various autoimmune conditions.

I call Ibiza and Zurich my home.
I first discovered Ibiza through my husband, Seth Troxler. As one of the world&rsquo;s top DJs, <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/my-island-laura-castro-resortwear-designer-creative-director">the island</a> was central to his life and identity. Coming from the opera world, stepping into his universe was both exciting and surreal. My first visit was driven by love - I was stepping into his world, which had shaped so much of his journey.
At first, Ibiza overwhelmed me. I had stepped away from nightlife years ago to protect my voice and focus on my opera career, so the island&rsquo;s nocturnal, free-spirited energy was far outside my comfort zone. But over time, I found my own pace, especially through meeting like-minded people. Now, I can&rsquo;t wait to be back. What once felt daunting has become one of my favourite places. My children love it too.
Ibiza has profoundly influenced my life.
Coming from opera&rsquo;s highly structured world, the island introduced me to a freer, more spontaneous creative energy. On a personal level, Ibiza has become a sanctuary for my well-being. I&rsquo;ve found incredible healers and therapies - from high-dose ozone treatments to lymphatic massage and saunas &mdash; that support my journey with chronic illness. These <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/ruby-kelly-model-and-holistic-retreat-chef-places-to-go-ibiza-my-island-ibiza">holistic</a> practices are essential to maintaining my energy and everyday life.
One of my favourite projects began here.
Upon touchdown, the first thought that crosses my mind is: &ldquo;Breathe and let go.&rdquo; Because every time I land on the island, I know I&rsquo;m stepping into a space that challenges me, but also expands me. It reminds me that growth often lives where comfort ends.

Over the years, I began to settle into the island&rsquo;s pace. Meeting the right people - especially other mothers and creatives who shared a similar mindset - helped Ibiza transform from intimidating to inspiring. Now, it&rsquo;s one of my favourite places in the world. My children love it and so do I. It&rsquo;s a place where we can all be a little freer, more connected and more ourselves.

Can you share any ways in which Ibiza has influenced your work or life?
Ibiza has influenced my life profoundly by teaching me to embrace contrast and balance. Coming from opera&rsquo;s structured, disciplined world, Ibiza introduced me to a freer, more spontaneous creative energy. It&rsquo;s helped me blend discipline with playfulness - both in my music and in my children&rsquo;s clothing designs. On a personal level, Ibiza has become a sanctuary for my well-being. I&rsquo;ve discovered incredible health and beauty therapists offering treatments like high-dose ozone therapy, lymphatic drainage massage and many sauna sessions. These holistic therapies have been vital to my healing journey, helping me restore energy, detoxify and maintain balance amid my busy life as an opera singer, mother and designer. This nurturing aspect of Ibiza is as essential to me as its creative spirit.

Could you mention any works or projects of yours that have been inspired by Ibiza?
My collaboration of Let Me Play with Atelier Handmade started through a friendship with Anastasia Yershova, who lives on the island and has a son the same age as mine. We connected deeply during our pregnancies and bonded over motherhood. That connection inspired a children&rsquo;s clothing collection rooted in our shared love for natural materials and timeless, practical design. Linen felt like the perfect choice - breathable, soft and beautiful.
We&rsquo;re launching the collection on June 4th at Six Senses Ibiza, where it will be sold exclusively this season. This project means the world to me - not only because it reflects my journey as a mother and designer, but because it was born out of true connection and shared vision. I&rsquo;m so excited to be launching in Ibiza.

Would you say that Ibiza serves as a source of inspiration for you?
Ibiza, with its relaxed, nature-infused vibe, provided the perfect backdrop for this collaboration. The island&rsquo;s blend of creativity, community, and mindfulness shaped the spirit of the collection. Working alongside Anastasia in this unique environment allowed us to craft each piece with intention and care, making the line not just clothing, but a celebration of motherhood, friendship, and sustainable living. This project has been incredibly fulfilling - not only as a creative outlet but as a way to connect with other families who value comfort, quality, and authenticity for their children. Ibiza gave us the space and inspiration to dream and create something truly special.
How do you feel when you leave Ibiza? Do you sense any change in yourself?
Leaving Ibiza is always emotional. I feel grounded and more open, like I&rsquo;ve let go of something I didn&rsquo;t know I was holding. But there&rsquo;s also a sadness. I&rsquo;ve built a deeply supportive community here - especially among mothers partnered with artists who are often on the road. We understand each other. There&rsquo;s an unspoken bond. In Ibiza, I don&rsquo;t have to explain myself. I can just be. That kind of belonging is rare. Ibiza once felt like Seth&rsquo;s world, but now it&rsquo;s mine too.
I&rsquo;ve grown into all parts of mother, artist, partner, woman. It&rsquo;s not just a place I visit &mdash; it&rsquo;s a part of who I am.
Have you ever experienced a sense of belonging or homecoming during your time in Ibiza?
Yes - though it&rsquo;s a layered, evolving kind of homecoming. Ibiza still feels very much like Seth&rsquo;s island in many ways. When we&rsquo;re out as a family, people often recognize him - it&rsquo;s part of life here. Even our kids are starting to understand that their dad is someone people know and admire. It brings a different kind of energy and as a mother, I&rsquo;m constantly balancing that public side of our lives with the everyday beauty and chaos of raising two little ones.
At first, I felt like I was stepping into his world. But over time, I found my own pace, my own people. I&rsquo;ve built strong friendships with other women here, many of whom are also raising children while navigating creative lives and relationships with partners in the public eye. There&rsquo;s a shared understanding, a deep support system, and that has made all the difference. Now, when I return to Ibiza, it feels like a true homecoming. Not because it&rsquo;s perfect or quiet, but because I can be all the parts of myself here &mdash; the mother, the artist, the partner, the woman. The island has held space for me to grow into that. And in doing so, it&rsquo;s become not just a backdrop to my life, but a part of my identity.

Is there a particular place on the island that you find especially inspiring?
Pomelo Playa is one of our favourite new family spots &mdash; I also love Delean, a beautifully curated health food shop that supports those with specific dietary needs. And Claudia, my lymphatic massage therapist who has become essential to my healing. These places, each in their own quiet way, make Ibiza feel like home.
