<a href="https://cannikita.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Can Nikita</a> - Welcome to a home built from the heart
Victor and India Douce have created a stunning, soulful sanctuary, inspired by their shared experiences and the island itself.

Our house was not only named after our daughter, but her birth was a guiding light in how we created our home as a symbol for celebrating life. My wife and I were deeply hands-on in the entire process and redesigned every corner over a year and a half, constructing a space that felt intuitive, expressive and personal. As a former property developer, I knew how to build, but this time was different. We wanted to create a sanctuary with soul, not just style.
The house was formerly an untouched <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/documenting-the-past-the-ibiza-finca-portfolio-of-sayana-cairo" target="_blank" rel="noopener">finca</a> dating back over two centuries and each space in it tells a story. There&rsquo;s the Love Room, where I proposed to my wife, the Cabin in the Woods, nestled deep in the forest, the Cold Plunge pool carved from stone for my own form of meditation and the Sauna, gifted to us by Finnish friend and actor, Jasper P&auml;&auml;kk&ouml;nen. The house is surrounded by nature, yet just 15 minutes from Ibiza Town.&nbsp;
Welcome to a place where everything was built with love. And a touch of magic. Here are six of its most meaningful spaces.

The Cold Plunge&nbsp;
The cold plunge became an escape for me. I first experienced it in <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/ibiza-dreamer-liam-aldous-writer-curator-another-future" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ibiza</a> and instantly felt its calming effects on my body and my thoughts. The plunge pool sits where there used to be an indoor parking area, a space that had no real purpose since we already had space for exterior parking, I knew I could transform this area into something meaningful. I wanted somewhere cosy and grounding, even if it&rsquo;s shocking to step into three-degree water. It's a space that feels both intense and safe, a small ritual space where I can reset and reconnect daily.&nbsp;

The Firepit


This special section of the house was once home to a dying olive tree, encircled by a weathered old table. In its place, we designed a custom-crafted firepit, with a built-in tripod for grilling food. Elevated and surrounded by forest, it&rsquo;s a mystical, communal space made for gathering, music and ritual. A single tribal-inspired painting by a Dutch artist defines the space. It reflects my love of 90s hip hop and graphic art - a sacred, expressive corner where we hang and honour meaningful moments by the fire.

The Living Room

The living room is one of my favourite spaces in the house - a personal fusion of history, art and expression. It is home to an original Keith Haring, one of the first pieces I treated myself to once I could finally afford it. I&rsquo;ve always been drawn to artists like Haring and Basquiat - true pioneers of street culture. The room itself reflects a blend of old and new, with a 200-year-old beam and a custom-coloured concrete floor. The high windows were designed to catch sunlight, and at just the right moments, the sun floods in and highlights the art on the floor.&nbsp;

The Love Room

&nbsp;
We call it the Love Room. It&rsquo;s completely pink, and it holds a really special memory - on the day we got the keys to the house, before we even moved in, I proposed to my wife here while she was pregnant. It felt like the right room to start our story. We designed everything ourselves: custom pink flooring from <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/marrakech-travel-guide-morocco-riad-mena-s-philomena-schurer-merckoll" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Morocco</a>, fun vintage-style pink ceramic toilets and optical illusion tiles. The walls are finished with marmolina, a mix of marble powder and concrete that ages beautifully over time. Every curve, texture and detail was handmade.

The Sauna&nbsp;


After spending time in Finland, I fell in love with the culture, especially their relationship with the sauna. There, it's common to have multiple saunas per household, and they create entire social rituals around it. That inspired me to have my own. It wasn&rsquo;t just for the lifestyle - it complements my personal practice of <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/the-ibiza-wellness-trends-to-watch-in-2025-bio-hacking-well-being-fitness-trends" target="_blank" rel="noopener">hot-to-cold therapy</a>. I'm quite extreme by nature, and this is the healthiest extreme I&rsquo;ve found. Moving between intense heat and cold plunges pushes the body into a state of renewal. It&rsquo;s not just a wellness practice - it&rsquo;s a reflection of who I am.

The Master Bathroom


The master bathroom is one part of the house we&rsquo;ve never touched and never will. We inherited it exactly as it is, and it gives us an incredible sense of calm. By the window, there&rsquo;s a series of San Pedro cacti, which hold deep meaning for us. After a powerful ceremony with San Pedro in South Africa, we felt its protective energy, feminine, nurturing, despite being known as a masculine plant spirit in Mexican culture. This space reminds us of that experience. It&rsquo;s a wet bathroom with soft concrete, peaceful light and a sacred feel. We bathe our daughter here. It&rsquo;s pure, grounding magic.
