<p>Not just trends - the Spring/Summer 2026 women&rsquo;s and co-ed collections offer genuine food for thought on fashion and, why not, on life itself.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.instagram.com/matthieu_blazy/?hl=en">Matthieu Blazy&rsquo;s</a> sensational debut for <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/chanel-22-the-it-bag-redefining-modern-muses">Chanel</a> brought the Spring&ndash;Summer 2026 women&rsquo;s and co-ed collections to a close in New York, London, Milan and Paris. And, as always, the big question lingers in the air: what will remain of these fashion weeks? Or rather, who will actually sell what was shown on the catwalk and-perhaps more importantly, many of the trends spotted on the runway will we see on the streets, in clubs and on beaches next summer?<br /><span class="Apple-converted-space"></span></p>
<p>For the cool Ibiza community- who have probably embraced, if not inspired, many of these looks even before they hit the runways (fringes, fringes, fringes; pencil skirts with rare exceptions; leather in all its forms; layering; legs in the spotlight, all shaken up with elegance)- it&rsquo;s worth pausing to reflect on some of the moods that resonated most, leaving it to each of us to interpret them as we wish.</p>
<h4><strong>The Power of Music</strong></h4>
<p>Not even in their wildest dreams could producers Michael M&uuml;nzing and Luca Anzilotti-aka Benito Benites and John &ldquo;Virgo&rdquo; Garrett III-have imagined that Snap!&rsquo;s 1992 hit <i>Rhythm Is a Dancer</i>, sung by Thea Austin, would become the soundtrack to the hottest debut of the season.</p>
<p>Matthieu Blazy chose the version by Alex Christensen &amp; The Berlin Orchestra to unveil his irresistibly chic and cool vision for Chanel. The show&rsquo;s success was amplified by its soundtrack: those who lived through the heyday of house music and Eurodance in the 1990s may have shed a tear of nostalgia, while others rushed to Shazam the track- and now we&rsquo;re all humming it on repeat as we mentally replay Blazy&rsquo;s looks, which we already long to see in our wardrobes.<br /><br /><span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span>It&rsquo;s proof, as Ibiza dwellers know so well, of the phantasmagorical <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/burberry-ss26-the-power-of-music-and-free-spirit">power of music.</a></p>

<h4><strong>The Meaning of Fashion 1</strong></h4>
<p><a href="https://www.instagram.com/alessandro_michele/?hl=en">Alessandro Michele</a> took a bold step for a self-professed maximalist at the <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/valentino-according-to-alessandro-michele-the-resort-2026-collection-is-revealed">Valentino show</a>. Stripping the presentation of aesthetic overload, the designer drew inspiration from the words of the great poet and writer Pier Paolo Pasolini-one of the most significant Italian intellectuals of the 20th century, who once wrote to a friend during the Fascist era:<br /><br /></p>
<p>&ldquo;<i>We saw an immense number of fireflies forming groves of fire within groves of bushes, and we envied them because they loved one another, because they sought each other with loving flights and lights.</i>&rdquo;<br /><br /></p>
<p>For Pasolini, those fireflies symbolised the power to resist even the darkest night. The finale, with models gathered at the centre and their eyes turned upward towards the moving play of lights on the ceiling, reminded everyone that fashion, beyond clothing us, can still be a profound conveyor of meaning.</p>

<h4><strong>The Sky in a Room (The Meaning of Fashion 2)</strong></h4>
<p>A marquee in the middle of a London park. A floor strewn with clay. Pillars of light rising to the roof, creating gentle bulges. On paper, it sounds minimalist. Yet <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/a-signature-summer-burberry-takes-over-the-standard-ibiza">Burberry </a>transformed it into a moment of quiet magic with one inspired gesture: projecting a blue sky and drifting clouds across the ceiling.<br /><br />The result was twofold. On one hand, creative director Daniel Lee&rsquo;s looks came alive, as if the models were already striding through the natural arena of Glastonbury. On the other, it proved that you don&rsquo;t always need elaborate sets to evoke a dream, rather like <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/pacha-ibiza-coffee-table-book-pacha-presents-fifty-years-of-bliss">Pacha</a> in 1973.</p>

<h4><strong>Nothing Is As It Seems</strong></h4>
<p>Nothing is as it seems, nothing is as it appears-because nothing is truly real. Watching <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/prada-ss26-body-of-composition">Prada&rsquo;s show,</a> one couldn&rsquo;t help recalling the lyrics of a song by Sicilian artist Franco Battiato. Circle skirts that begin demurely only to burst into cascades of flounces and rearrange themselves into pleats; leather jackets thrown over almost-couture dresses; elongated tank tops turned into restless skirts&mdash;all of it an invitation to view fashion (and life) from ever-shifting perspectives.</p>

<h4><strong>Take Care of Yourself</strong></h4>
<p>The women on <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/missoni-ss26-beachwear-meets-urban-life">Missoni&rsquo;s</a> catwalk bared their legs as if rebelling against trousers and skirts, forever ready for an impromptu trip to the sea. Creative director <a href="https://www.instagram.com/alberto_caliri/?hl=en">Alberto Caliri</a> expanded the notion of the ocean and swimming beyond the confines of beachwear.<br /><br />To wear the sea, in his vision, means carving out time for oneself amid the whirl of daily obligations. Swimming, literal or metaphorical, is first and foremost a dive within.</p>

<h4><strong>Resilience of Love</strong></h4>
<p>This was the title of a phantasmagorical show by<a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/two-islands-making-love"> Rossy De Palma</a> - the iconic Majorcan star who graced the art cover of <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com"><i>L&rsquo;Officiel Ibiza 2025</i></a>. We borrow those same words when we think of <a href="https://www.instagram.com/pppiccioli/?hl=en">Pierpaolo Piccioli</a> and what his return to fashion as creative director of <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/balenciaga-resort-2026-demna-s-final-chapter">Balenciaga</a> must have meant to him. <br /><br />His resilience after leaving Valentino, and his boundless love for the craft, have granted him a new lease of life, expressed through a collection that feels like a meditation on elegance in the present tense.</p>

<h4><strong>The Labyrinth</strong></h4>
<p>The founders of <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/the-attico-september-2025-show-lei-e-cosi">The Attico</a>, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/gildaambrosio/?hl=en">Gilda Ambrosio</a> and <a href="https://www.instagram.com/giorgiatordini/?hl=en">Giorgia Tordini</a>, raised the stakes for their presentation with a labyrinthine runway. Models, swathed in mischievous see-through silhouettes layered with jackets and trench coats boasting puffed, oversized shoulders wrapped in strips of shirting fabric reimagined as architectural dresses-opened doors, wandered corridors, and emerged into other spaces. <br /><br />A maze of choices, paths and detours-remarkably like life itself.</p>

<h4><strong>The Animal Beat</strong></h4>
<p>When <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/hermes-and-elvira-solana-celebrate-a-century-of-craft-in-barcelona">Herm&egrave;s</a> opened its show with a heartbeat that morphed into an insistent tribal rhythm-tinged with gypsy, tango and jazz improvisations-to set the tone for Nad&egrave;ge Vanhee-Cybulski&rsquo;s vision of precise, strong-willed elegance, the message was clear: stay connected to your deepest self. Celebrate your being with exquisite clothes (and the brand&rsquo;s jewellery is no minor affair), but never lose that sense of unity with everything that primal heartbeat reminds us of.</p>

<h4><strong>The Power of D</strong><strong>oing</strong></h4>
<p>The charm of Ibiza lies in its ancient savoir-faire- an instinct for craft that the island&rsquo;s cool community preserves day after day. Watching the apron-cut mini dress that opened Veronica Leoni&rsquo;s <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/calvin-klein-veronica-leoni-s-urban-ode">Calvin Klein</a> show in New York, and the parade of aprons that Miuccia Prada sent down the runway in Paris for Miu Miu, one feels the impulse to disconnect from screens and rediscover the pleasure of making things by hand.<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></p>

<p>Let&rsquo;s devote ourselves to simple, everyday acts- perhaps not as sublime as those of Ibiza&rsquo;s master artisans, yet capable, in their own quiet way, of anchoring us firmly in the here and now.</p>
