Dior presents its latest haute couture beauty creation that you will want to wear again and again: Rouge Premier. Combining tailor-made beauty and house codes, this singular lipstick advances on the new frontier of luxury beauty.

Since its birth, the <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/dior-womens-show-autumn-winter-2023-24-collection-photo-look" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Christian Dior</a> house has represented pure haute couture glamour and innovation. After all, it was M. Dior's revolutionary New Look that made the couturier famous in 1947. Festive, modern, with just the right amount of excess, the collection laid the foundations of the visionary and timeless spirit of the brand. Six years later, in 1953, Dior launched the ideal companion for its sumptuous silhouettes: a tube of lipstick named <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/beauty/dior-makeup-peter-philips-interview-yoon-ahn-editorial-beauty" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rouge Dior</a>. Very quickly, the great ladies of Hollywood made it a must-have beauty like Grace Kelly who particularly liked it. Reawakening its appeal and offering it a revisited tube, the creative and image director of Dior make-up <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/beauty/with-its-new-lipstick-forever-dior-imagine-le-lipstick-clean-ultime" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Peter Philips</a> is bringing Rouge Dior back to the house in 2021, in the form of a complete collection boasting 75 shades and a long-lasting moisturizing formula. Throughout the house's history, the haute couture and beauty departments have coexisted, knowing how to evolve to meet the contemporary woman where she finds herself. Today, seventy years after the debut of the first Dior lipstick, the two come together for the launch of Rouge Premier, the very first haute couture rouge . &ldquo;It's a little piece of real luxury ,&rdquo; says Peter Philips.&nbsp;Basically, you don't need lipstick, <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/beauty/mascara-cocktailing-tiktok-beauty-trend" target="_blank" rel="noopener">mascara</a> or perfume to survive. But to know what luxury really is, why not treat yourself? Make it a special occasion with a unique piece that we can keep, recharge and enjoy?&rdquo;

Peter Philips had to consider the practicality and meaning of a high fashion red. Unlike a couture dress, a completely unique creation, red must embody the concept of made-to-measure while being available in a selection of Dior boutiques around the world. &ldquo;The true essence of haute couture is more exclusivity, customization, focus on craftsmanship, and it is especially made-to-measure. It is also the place of experimentation, of excess sometimes, while remaining respectful of the silhouette or the personality, he explains. And there are different ways to translate that into makeup &ndash; through unique colours and textures? How far can we go? Dior Beauty doesn't have a workshop where customers can come for fittings, and we don't have a catwalk, so the approach is different. For this launch, we have chosen to focus on the haute couture experience. When we go to buy a new haute couture dress, we are pampered as soon as we pass the door of the boutique. Various adjustments are made; the conversation continues about what you want from your dress. This service, this experience makes you, as a customer, feel like the only person in the world that matters. That's what we want to project in this collection.&rdquo; Rouge Premier is composed of 12 universal shades of a luxurious new formula, coiled in a refillable ceramic case developed by the renowned Maison Bernardaud workshops.

Every detail of Rouge Premier has been brought to haute couture standard, starting with its composition. Peter Philips wanted to introduce exclusive ingredients to differentiate Rouge Premier from Dior's other extraordinary lipsticks. Rich colours are supported by hydrating elements, like hand-picked red hibiscus from Dior's gardens in Burkina Faso, and silky jojoba oil. For an added pinch of luxury, microparticles of 24k gold are suspended within the matte-finish sticks &ndash; an addition that Peter Philips admits is only motivated by the pride of introducing real gold in the formula and the desire to highlight the innovations of its laboratories (he insists on the challenge represented by the inclusion of the precious metal). &ldquo;Gold doesn't add anything to lipstick. Neither luminosity nor long-term benefits, he confides. But it's like going to a very exclusive <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/five-enchanting-restaurants-in-ibiza-town" target="_blank" rel="noopener">restaurant</a> and ordering that special chocolate dessert with a little bit of gold on it. All that adds is that we know we're going to eat a little bit of gold. And that is luxury; decadence. When you do it in a subtle way, it's very elegant.&rdquo; &ldquo;It's the same with haute couture, he continues. When you see how a dress is constructed, very often the process of making it is extremely complicated. Is this complication necessary? Because there are easier ways to achieve it. But it is the know-how behind it, which makes the difference between ready-to-wear and haute couture.&rdquo; Beyond the lexical field of fashion applicable to such a high quality creation, Rouge Premier can be described as a family heirloom, a heritage. &ldquo;The case can be passed down from generation to generation,&rdquo; notes Peter Philips. An idea of ​​longevity which is reflected in its toile de Jouy motif , a print with which Christian Dior had hung the walls of his first boutique on avenue Montaigne. And which has become a timeless symbol of the house that can be found throughout the collections of artistic director Maria Grazia Chiuri; while lipstick refills instill a new feel, allowing you to change shades for every mood or occasion.

Peter Philips thinks that the mark will be able to extend beyond the initial twelve colours. &ldquo;It's a different way to live your beauty routine,&rdquo; he says. And what routine would be complete without makeup accessories? The house has designed a lip brush and mirror set designed in Maison Bernardaud ceramic with a toile de Jouy motif to complete the collection.
