Inaugurated in 2022, but operationally starting this summer, the two villas inside L'Andana in Maremma offer privacy and an even more magical dimension of peace and humanity.

Arriving at the hotel hot and eager for a dip in the pool, don't wait for those two minutes that are needed for the staff to deliver the luggage and instead decide to swim naked with your travel companions. You can (without causing a stir), if the <a href="https://www.andana.it/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">resort in question is</a> <a href="https://www.andana.it/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">L'Andana</a> and if you and your group have chosen to stay in one of the two private villas inaugurated last year, but which became fully operational this summer. Former residence of the Grand Duke of Tuscany Leopold II of Lorraine who in 1800 had started the reclamation works of the marshy areas, the structure is well known to the haut de gamme public in search of a deep contact with nature accompanied by a five-star treatment. Since 2000 it has been owned by the Moretti family, who also control the L'Albereta relais in Franciacorta, the Acquagiusta, Bellavista, Contadi Castaldi, Petra, Sella &amp; Mosca and Teruzzi wineries scattered across Lombardy , Tuscany and <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/travel/sardinia-l-exception-forte-village" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sardinia</a> and is active in the construction sector. From there went Alain Ducasse who together with Carmen Moretti and Martino del Rosa founded L'Andana in 2004, to then hand over the baton of the gastronomic part in 2016 to Enrico Bartolini in whose starred Trattoria he is assisted by executive chef Bruno De Moura Cossio. But the Andana's charm doesn't lie in the flawless service, in the excellent food, or in the Espa spa where the treatments are super personalized.

Going through the gate, you take the long avenue dotted with maritime pines and cypresses, like passing through a stargate that introduces you to a peaceful dimension, where everything slows down and the senses sharpen. Those who arrive here savour the quiet experience moments of pure well-being. There is the countryside, in all its frankness. There are neat and well-kept vines and olive trees. There is the open sky, the horizon stretching as far as the sea and the pine forests that can be reached by car for a little relaxation on the <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/hidden-beaches-on-ibiza-s-answer-to-big-sur" target="_blank" rel="noopener">beach</a> or for a horse ride at sunset, willingly organized by the concierges. All tiles of a mosaic held together by the now rare sensation of being able to indulge in silence, calm, availability towards others.

The private villas inside the Andana were created to offer an even higher level of intimacy to those who want to get together with family, loved ones or with those who, as in this case, arrive there for work and leave with the feeling of having made new friends. Large rooms all with private bathroom, designer kitchen, living rooms and large shared patio offer the right balance between privacy and socialization in the flesh. Even the wholly contemporary craving for photographing and posting takes a break, for once it's more important to be there to enjoy the moment and not to let others know. You can linger in the arms of Morpheus and then have breakfast served by the <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/travel/rooftop-pools-nyc-hotels" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pool</a>, or get up early, run or walk around the estate, challenge each other in a game of <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/tennis-outfit-athleisure-preppy-style" target="_blank" rel="noopener">tennis</a>, perfect your golf strokes on the thirty thousand square metre driving range, practice yoga.

In a lull in the middle of the morning, I picked up the computer to file a piece to be delivered. Like an angel of the house a lady materialized on the patio intent on tidying up. Discreet and silent, she nodded to me not to disturb me, to which I hung up a button. "Good morning how are you lady?" I asked her and we chatted like old acquaintances. &laquo;Do you like the resort, ma'am?&raquo;, she asked me at one point, then she explained: &laquo;I've been part of the staff for thirteen years: even working here has something magical&raquo; . She talks to me without ceasing to tidy up, lingers a moment longer and before disappearing as she appeared she says to me: &laquo;Do you know what's beautiful? That customers smile at us&raquo;. I didn't ask her name and basically it doesn't matter, I will always remember her, because true luxury today is human contact.
