Taking inspiration from sensuality, femininity, and a bittersweet sense of ephemerality, the Argentinian mixed-media artist opens her new show, Fragile Yearning - curated by Ulli Widmaier Picasso - today at San Antonio's Faro Ses Coves Blanques.

&lsquo;I was born in San Juan, a small town nestled between the desert and the Andes mountains in Argentina. My childhood was a blend of creativity and freedom, heavily influenced by my mother, an <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/artist-carlito-dalceggio-in-ibiza-estudio-laterna-club-chinois" target="_blank" rel="noopener">artist</a> who surrounded herself with other creatives. She had a studio where my brother and I often spent time, sleeping under the easels as she and her friends painted. My father, too, was creative, and together my parents restored old mirrors and made frames, fostering an environment that nurtured my artistic sensibilities from an early age.

Growing up in that <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/bohemian-style-boho-ibiza-fashion-free-spirited-ibiza-style" target="_blank" rel="noopener">bohemian</a> atmosphere shaped me profoundly. My parents not only supported my creative endeavours but also encouraged me to explore and research art, which led me to study the history of art at university. That education has deeply informed my work today. Understanding the cultural and historical context of art gave me a foundation from which I could push boundaries and explore my own themes. It also made me more aware of the enduring power of desire, emotion, and the human spirit &mdash; themes that are central to my art.

I have lived in <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/eight-ibiza-summer-looks-ibiza-style-inspo" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ibiza</a> for over 15 years. Ibiza has a special energy, one that influences my work in profound ways. I live in an ancient finca nestled between the hills of Santa In&eacute;s and the coast, and this home has become both my refuge and my studio. It's a space where I can immerse myself in my art, often surrounded by nature, absorbing the energy from abandoned agricultural areas nearby. These structures have a unique, almost mystical influence on me, infusing my work with a kind of raw power that feels unique to this island.

My art is fluid and I work with many different mediums. I can move from painting to sculpture to sewing to collage in the span of a day, following whatever inspiration strikes. It can be physically demanding but my <a href="https://www.liramet.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">finished pieces</a> have a delicacy, a lightness to them that is very feminine. The themes in my work explore the tension between the rational and the unconscious. I find myself drawn to the incalculable, the untraveled and the fantastical. Desire, for me, represents <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/alma-desnudo-a-new-photography-book-uncovers-ibiza-s-naked-soul" target="_blank" rel="noopener">freedom</a> &mdash; it is the force that keeps the spirit alive, urging us to explore the unknown.&nbsp;
My upcoming exhibition, Fragile Yearning, is a tribute to that spirit, to the vulnerability that comes with opening up to others and embracing what is yet to come. Through my work, I aim to celebrate the sensuality of life and the deep connection between emotion and freedom. I never ai to rationalise emotions - I want to encourage people live with pure passion, to embrace their feelings fully and to live with joy and abandon. Here, in the light of this fragile yearning, we confront the bittersweet truth: that our deepest desires are but fleeting echoes, and in their fragile beauty we find both the pain and the grace of being human.&rsquo;
