Ibiza's local produce is some of Europe's finest, so forgo the supermarkets and get beneath the skin of the island at these excellent rural farm shops.&nbsp;

Terra Masia
<a href="https://terramasiaibiza.com/?lang=es" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Terra Masia</a> is the grande dame of Ibiza&rsquo;s farm shops now and &ndash; since last year - has had a high-profile owner to match. Bought by the superstar <a href="https://www.diariodeibiza.com/ibiza/dj-calvin-harris-buys-farm-ibiza/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">DJ Calvin Harris </a>in 2022, the farm nevertheless stays true to its community roots with a daily produce market and home-delivered boxes along with a growing programme that includes rare grains and &lsquo;lost&rsquo; vegetable varieties. In summer, colourful farm to table suppers and live music attract an earthy-yet-fashionable crowd &ndash; Gucci chose the farm as the location for their star-studded Gucci Vault launch dinner one hot summer&rsquo;s night last July.&nbsp;

Can Cristofol
If Terra Masia represents the glossy face of regenerative agriculture in Ibiza, then beautiful, bohemian <a href="https://www.instagram.com/cancristofolibiza/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Can Cristofol</a> honours the island&rsquo;s authentic rural spirit. The building itself is steeped in history, a former rural fonda &ndash; a dying breed of multi-tasking bar, restaurant and general store &ndash; the scene that thrummed around Can Cristofol was the lifeblood of the Morna Valley farming community up until its closure toward the end of the last century. Rescued from abandonment by regenerative farmer India Williams, Can Cristofol is once again a thriving rural hub with a postcard-pretty farm shop stocked with glorious, gleaming produce grown by India&rsquo;s team on the land surrounding the farm.

La Choza
Known colloquially as the <a href="http://www.lachozasl.com/gertrudis.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fruit Shack</a>, this Santa Gertrudis institution supplies both the chi-chi hordes of northern island dwellers and the local Ibicenco community with picked-that-morning fresh fruit and vegetables along with a plethora of other goodies such as local sheep&rsquo;s cheese, rosemary honey, natural wines and fresh sourdough bread. In winter it&rsquo;s the place to stock up on health-conscious kimchi, kombucha and fresh juices, while come August the whole place is suffused with the sticky sweetness of ripe watermelons and strawberries. Unmissable.

Can Mus&oacute;n
Hidden among the fertile plains outside Santa Eulalia, <a href="https://www.ibizacanmuson.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Can Mus&oacute;n</a> is the rural stronghold of Ibicenca farmer Maria Mar&iacute; Colomar. The pretty, shaded farm shop and restaurant are popular among island residents who bring young children to visit the friendly animals &ndash; including sheep, goats and pigs - before dining on simple local specialties such as roasted campo chicken with caramelised root vegetables. The in-house chef creates excellent plant-based cakes and there are all sorts of goodies to take home. A great place to while away a few hours with children.&nbsp;

Can Zol&nbsp;
A relative newbie to the farm shop scene, <a href="https://www.canzolibiza.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Can ZOL</a> is an organic estate whose mission is to help the island regenerate its lands and to encourage the healthy consumption of local, quality products. The farm itself is a flower-filled haven and the staff are extraordinarily knowledgeable about the plants they grow. Their overflowing take-home produce boxes are a feast for the senses, with juicy fruits, vibrant salads and colourful posies of flowers jostling for space amongst a stack of organic vegetables.
