Winter Solstice December 21st, the shortest day of the year in the northern hemisphere, is also the day that the Sun leaves the expansive, fun and adventurous constellation of Sagittarius and enters Capricorn until Jan 20th 2024.

Capricorn is the sign of status, discipline and ambition. Not exactly the words associated with the celebratory holidays that reside within it.
However this earthy, grounded energy also rules over tradition, elegance, longevity and loyalty. So, during this dark, long Solstice night there is an opportunity to reflect and ruminate on the highlights of 2023 and the direction you will take in 2024 with some dedicated goal mapping, before turning the glitz on for the holidays.
We are at the Quarter Moon phase of the lunar cycle. The half-way point between the expansive Sagittarius New Moon energy of December 13th that moved us to set our intentions for 2024, and the emotional Cancer Full Moon on 26th December.&nbsp;
<a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/new-moon-in-sagittarius-december-2023-mercury-retrograde" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sagittarius Season</a> bridges the journey between Scorpio and Capricorn. During Scorpio Season we excavate and alchemise what no longer serves us. We enter Sagittarius Season with a lighter energy, renewed faith and optimism about our future and new directions. Then, during Capricorn Season we get to work on those new directions.
This quarter moon phase where the Sun and Moon are at a 90 degree square presents an energy of friction and challenge to that Sagittarian optimism.&nbsp;
Am I being unrealistic about my goals?
What can I put into place if I want to achieve these grand visions?
Where do I need to apply discipline to strengthen their foundations?
What aligned action do I take towards them?
These are the questions to consider now. But it is not necessarily the time to act on them.&nbsp;
With <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/take-a-pause-i-bet-you-don-t-know-this-about-mercury-retrograde" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mercury retrograding</a> in the sign of Capricorn (before slipping back into Sagittarius) until December 31st, and lucky planet Jupiter retrograde until 1st January 2024, plus the holiday season almost here, you may just want to pump the brakes and kick back a little while longer.
Sometimes taking a pause and doing nothing IS doing something. A wise friend once told me &ldquo;If you don&rsquo;t know what to do, do nothing at all&rdquo;.
This is not the time for action but to reconsider previous plans, review our desires and really get clarity on what we want our 2024 to look and feel like.
Once January comes around and all planets are in direct motion - the ideas, hopes and dreams that you are ruminating on now will have the momentum to take flight.
What to expect this Capricorn season for each sign (read for sun and rising signs).
Aries: With the Sun in the 10th house, the spotlight is on your career and professional status. Close the year out with a bang and catapult yourself into the big league in 2024.
Taurus: Dreaming of an exotic escape? Make it top tier, Taurus. Luxurious plus all the comfortable trappings of home, away. Only the best will do.
Gemini: It may be trickier than usual to keep things under wraps while the Sun sweeps through your secretive 8th house. Especially with your ruling planet, Mercury in a back spin until January. Beware what you share.
Cancer: The Sun is in your 7th house of committed partnership. Don&rsquo;t be surprised if a special someone pops the question under the mistletoe, or you solidify an existing professional or personal relationship.
Leo: Before overindulging during the holidays, Leo, get ahead of the curve with a detox or training schedule. Even if you put a plan in place and action it later.
Virgo: Get ready for your close up, Virgo! With the Sun in your playful, romantic, creative house you&rsquo;ll be attracting all the attention (including exes) and possibly igniting something new for 2024.
Libra: Home is where the heart is for you right now, Libra. You know better than most how to make your space a perfectly styled and peaceful environment to welcome all of your loved ones.
Scorpio: You&rsquo;ll have plenty of opportunities to find new spots locally this season and connect with new and old friends without having to travel too far. Team up with a pal and invite them to take you somewhere new. When you step out of your comfort zone your power of seduction x 100.
Sagittarius: With the Sun in your 2nd house of money and worth, you can attract healthy financial opportunities and new income portals now. Maybe a new job to kick off 2024?&nbsp;
Capricorn: The star of the season! You will not be forgotten among all the other important celebrations. It might feel like competition is stiff but everyone wants to celebrate you so claim your turn in the spotlight!
Aquarius: With the Sun in your 12th house of sleep you might feel like skipping the celebrations and recharging your internal batteries. Do it now because by the end of January all eyes will be on you!
Pisces: There is no better time (or excuse) to gather your network of contacts than this time of year. If you&rsquo;ve let connections slip, use this season to get back in touch, who knows where it may lead?
