The London-born designer shares the excitement of her first family Christmas in Ibiza.

A shared love of Ibiza was what first brought together the two founders of conscious lifestyle brand, Maison M - <a href="https://www.instagram.com/shopmaison_m/?hl=en" target="_blank" rel="noopener">@shopmaison_m</a>. This summer, one half of the duo, Margherita, decided to make Ibiza her full-time home and has been busy preparing for her first family Christmas on the island. L&rsquo;OFFICIEL IBIZA caught up with Margherita at her home near San Carlos to find out how she&rsquo;s creating new Christmas traditions for her family in Ibiza.

&lsquo;Excitement levels are high as our first Christmas on the island fast approaches. Having only moved to live here full time this August, it has been important to make new festive family traditions. We live in the campo surrounded by nature, so it's all about foraged decorations from the garden this year. Pine branches fill our&nbsp;vases, cuttings from recently pruned olive trees festooned with lights make our indoor tree and fallen cloved oranges fill the finca with a wonderfully festive fragrance. It's very different to our usual <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/travel/christmas-in-london-direction-the-hotel-corinthia-transforms-into-a-true-fairy-paradise" target="_blank" rel="noopener">London Christmas</a> but beautifully so. Lights are strung throughout the garden and wrapped around the palms so we're hopeful Santa will find his way to our new address. He'll be greeted with a glass of hierbas de Ibiza when he does!
Present-wise I will be gifting and hoping to receive lots of Ibiza-bought goodies this year, along with of course some pieces from our own Maison M collection.&rsquo;

Here are my top picks this Christmas.
I always love to give and receive preloved pieces so I will be searching for last minute treasures between now and Christmas. There's such a thrill in finding something special and unexpected where you least expect to. My favourite places on the island so far are of course the weekly flea market at San Jordi, the Troc in Ca Na Negreta and Mon Ch&acirc;teau en Espagne, a French brocante and vintage store near San Juan. I'm on the lookout for new hidden gems and can't wait to discover more the longer I live here.&nbsp;
You can't go wrong with anything from the Santa Gertrudis homewares store, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/siempre_deco_ibiza/?hl=en" target="_blank" rel="noopener">@siempre_deco_ibiza</a> which is piled high with beautiful things for your home at every price point. I am hoping to receive some black terracotta cookware which would look just perfect on our Christmas table.
My nearest&nbsp;and dearest will be receiving one of our Maison M hand knits to&nbsp;keep them cosy this&nbsp;Christmas. Hand knitted in Nepal, our cardigans come in classic navy and our newest shade Toast, the perfect wear-with-all throw on this winter.&nbsp;

From candle&nbsp;sticks&nbsp;to serving bowls and planters, there is something for everyone. The perfect gift for yourself or a loved one.
A self-confessed basket nut, my go-to gifts often end up being woven. Ibiza Town store &nbsp;<a href="https://www.instagram.com/muebles_de_junco_y_mimbre/?hl=en" target="_blank" rel="noopener">@muebles_de_junco_y_mimbre</a> is the perfect Aladdin's cave of wicker delights to search for unique handwoven treasures.
A case of wine is always a treat from the fabulous <a href="https://www.instagram.com/decanteringibiza/?hl=en" target="_blank" rel="noopener">@decanteringibiza</a> - based in Ibiza town, they offer private tasting sessions and sell fantastic Christmas wine hampers which you can select and buy on site.&nbsp;&iexcl;Salud!&nbsp;
A perfect stocking filler idea, which can be used for just about everything, is our Maison M quilted block print balloon bag - available in four beautiful colours - I use mine almost daily and often gift them to friends and family.
