From music to cocktails to festive d&eacute;cor, Ibiza&rsquo;s hippest hosts share their top tips for throwing the finest festive bash.

Get a great playlist planned. For me, Christmas is about classic sounds that set the mood. My first choice would be <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/music/frank-sinatra-young-photos-my-way-singer" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sinatra</a>, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis etc - I especially love those strings! And then the &lsquo;70s and &lsquo;80s stuff I personally grew up with like John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Wham, The Pogues and Chris Rea. It&rsquo;s a time of year for nostalgia and these songs always create the right vibe.

My tablescapes are jampacked with colour as it brings me so much joy. I have a yellow spiral tablecloth and some swirly cloth napkins from Summerill and Bishop that I pair with some frosted green glassware. I add tons of yellow flowers and green foliage to bring the outside in.

A festive get-together in Ibiza is all about being that bit more flamboyant, that bit OTT &ndash; bringing a touch of camp to Christmas! We do a huge table of friends at home &ndash; although we have done it in Freddie&rsquo;s (the nightclub) at <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/portraits/20-questions-with-an-ibiza-insider-dawn-hindle" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Pikes</a> before &ndash; and go wild with trashy d&eacute;cor, champagne, a DJ Harvey soundtrack and lots of glitter. I&rsquo;ll wear a fabulous dress and our Pikes x Terry de Havilland silver platforms, and everyone will end up raiding my wardrobe after lunch!

The ideal festive event for me revolves around three key ingredients: cosiness, fire and feast. And a handpicked crowd of good souls and diverse characters that together can energise the room.

Christmas is a special moment on the island because most of us are here far from our family. It is the time to get together with our chosen family or good friends. We decorate our Christmas olive tree in front of our house. We don&rsquo;t want to have a cut tree at home. We wear our most tacky Christmas sweaters; we light the fire and we organize a lovely cheese fondue. This year we will try our own b&ucirc;che de No&euml;l, a traditional French Christmas cake. After dinner we play lots of games...so the time goes faster for the presents to arrive at midnight. Of course, we try to be creative for Santa&rsquo;s arrival, using the garden sound system to play the sound of the sleigh. One of our most beautiful memories is when we created a path of lights with tiny lamps that our son thought was the star dust left by Santa Claus, on the roof of the house. It led to my studio filled with presents. That was magical. Eden is older now but he still remembers it as one of the most beautiful and special moments of his life.

The key is VIBE CONTROL! Lighting over all else - soft, warm, dim, amber lighting. Candles and different lighting gradients to create pools in different areas of the event. Closely followed by good sound distribution. Quality speakers don&rsquo;t have to be played loudly. <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/categories/music" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Music</a> should never be commercial and should feel elevated and aspirational whether it&rsquo;s classical or techno.

It's about choosing the best ingredients: food, drinks and, obviously, the ideal place, which here on the island is quite simple, there are endless wonderful places and all of them framed in the Mediterranean. What more could you ask for? oh! The company, if you bring your favorite people together, nothing can go wrong and it won't matter what you eat, drink or where you are. Of course, don't forget to toast - with or without alcohol-, for life, for love, for health... for whatever, but share it.

A disco ball! A fucking HUGE disco ball! And I&rsquo;ll tell you why. Because a disco ball brings back the ambience of a classic party which has been lost, in my opinion. It brings back the spirit of disco, of a time of a freedom, when people would go wild, and dress up and really lose it on the dancefloor. A disco ball creates magic and mayhem and sparkle and that&rsquo;s all I ever really need from a good party.

Choose a theme! This can be as straightforward as choosing a colour palette. I always find that deciding on a concept beforehand will help inform all of your choices, from d&eacute;cor and florals to food and cocktails. You can carry through colours, patterns, drawings or monograms to your invitations, menus, and any other stationary. Don&rsquo;t feel that you have to go too over-the-top (less is more), focus on the details and always pick something that feels personal to you!

In my opinion the key ingredients are a cracking soundtrack, lots of <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/dresses-dresses-parties-ideas-trends-christmas-new-year-2022" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sequins</a> and sparkle and a podium from where you can shine like a star! Throw in a bit of open mic and watch your party go off with a bang!

<div style="text-align: justify;">Everyone seems to be trying to drink less, so I use smaller glassware for miniature old school cocktails like cosmopolitans and martinis. I always wear an element of fun - this year I am really into my tinsel heels - and I always get a DJ friend to do me great playlist. This year, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/cicicava/?hl=en">Cici</a> is doing a NYE at home one for me. It&rsquo;s crucial to invite a really interesting mix of friends - not just one gang -- and do think about the seating plan if you&rsquo;re dining. If you have time, definitely post your invitations - there&rsquo;s still something about a crisp invite in the post that feels very grown-up and glamorous. Finally, I always love an element of surprise, whether that&rsquo;s a mezcal tasting or a pianist for carols or simply an appearance from Santa! Santa is always a great shout.&nbsp;</div>

A perfect festive party requires a perfect table. Creating the perfect table is all about layers of interest, such as candles and flowers and groupings of items. These levels of interest lead your eye to different areas and create the visual delights. Festive candle colours are key - we love Ester and Erik for their range of Christmassy colours.

It&rsquo;s all about that perfect Christmas recipe - take one small bunch of your nearest and dearest and marinate in a selection of alcohols and well-seasoned greetings. Next prepare an <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/categories/food" target="_blank" rel="noopener">extravagant feast </a>and add a large handful of festive Christmas songs, the cheesier the better. Mix with a quarter cup of bad singing and two cups of laughter. Once your guests are pickled and your feast is ready, serve with a liberal pour of your finest wines and a hearty garnish of Christmas hats and terrible jokes. Ensure everyone is properly stuffed and then set to one side to rest. Finish things off with a plate of mince pies, a good dash of nostalgia and a final few glugs of Christmas spirits!
