On 26th December we had the final Full Moon of 2023. It took place in the moon&rsquo;s home sign of Cancer where the energy is at its most harmonious, bringing a synergistic energy to this Full Moon phase.

But wait&hellip; That does not necessarily mean everything&rsquo;s been all peace, harmony and prayers over the holidays. It means that the energy itself has been working in unison, leaving us to respond however we choose.
Actually, as Cancer is one of the most sensitive and intuitive signs, it is more likely that this week our emotions will be even more heightened than usual.
Which is perfect for getting in touch with our deeper desires and yearnings of our heart.
But first, we had some tricky terrain to navigate over the Holidays. Did you survive it?
Communication planet, <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/take-a-pause-i-bet-you-don-t-know-this-about-mercury-retrograde" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mercury, still retrograde</a> and in tell-it-how-it-is Sagittarius, joined fiery Mars. That could have left some of us finding it impossible to keep our mouths zipped over the Christmas turkey with home truths blasting out in all directions. Especially as the moon skipped through cheeky Gemini on Christmas Day, igniting this combo on its way to Full. Oopsy!
On a positive note, this energy is ideal for respectfully speaking up for our needs and expressing what is most important to us, even when those conversations are challenging, albeit necessary. Mars conjunct Mercury in Sagittarius gives us the chutzpah to just say what we mean.
The day after this explosive combination (which will remain in place until the end of the year); we entered the Full Moon at 4 degrees Cancer.
Heightened sensitivity and explosive truth bombs are not always an ideal mix, but nothing in our great Universe is left to chance, and while revelations are a signature of <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/how-to-navigate-this-week-s-gemini-full-moon" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Full Moon</a>s, this disruption is sometimes what is necessary to catalyse change. After the revelations (whether internal or external), the nurturing Cancer energy passes through and aids us to soften and surrender into a deeper sense of what we need to feel safe and secure. Afterall, that is what home is - an inner sense of belonging within.
The moon in astrology represents our unconscious drives and emotional needs, feelings and intuition. Lunar cycles are 28 days in length. The moon moves quickly through all of the zodiac archetypes during its cycle, thereby representing our equally fluctuating emotions and needs.
Like the <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/soul-spirituality/what-are-the-differences-between-sun-moon-and-rising-signs" target="_blank" rel="noopener">moon</a>, feelings are generally hidden in the darkness making emotions confusing territory. We do not always know why we feel or act a certain way. And, it is at Full Moon that we are most likely to be presented with situations that bring them to the surface. The good, bad and ugly.
When we consider that the holiday season is a time usually spent in close proximity with family members, with all the tradition, responsibility, history, politics and challenges that it brings, it&rsquo;s no wonder that emotions are triggered.
For some of us, it is a painful reminder of absent family members or our lack of unconditional love and foundational support. Hollywood&acute;s fairytale family Christmas sadly does not exist for everyone.
Whatever we feel during this time, we have an opportunity to observe our emotions without the need to make sense of them but to be curious and let them move through us.
Full Moons represent a time to let go. As we come to the end of 2023, we can decide what we no longer want to hold on to, choosing to leave that behind before moving forward into the fresh new year.
Full Moon is also a completion point of the 6 months preceding it starting at the New Moon in Cancer earlier this year.
Think back to around July 17th. (If you document your life using a journal, even better - this can be incredibly revealing and useful to track what was taking place during the lunations).
What projects were you starting then or were you called to?
What path was unfolding before you?
What were you wanting to create and nurture for your future?
How far have you come with these projects and directions since then?
This Cancer Full Moon will present an important turning point and significant marker of your progress in these areas.
This practice is part of the lunar mapping I do for myself and with my clients. Tracking the lunar cycles and cosmic energies, planning intentions to then manifest opportunities and reach goals.
Looking back at my personal journal entries and manifestation list at July&rsquo;s Cancer New Moon, the majority of my goals and intentions have materialised. The ones that haven&rsquo;t yet are in progress. This is a powerful practice so if you&rsquo;re not doing this yet, now is your time to start!
The first step is grabbing a journal, and during this Full Moon week, document your feelings. It&rsquo;s not necessary to attach a story or reasons why you think you feel a certain way. Simply describe how you feel, thank the emotions for how they have served you until now, and with gratitude set the intention to leave what is not working for you in 2023. It&rsquo;s time to move on.
