Like every year, the world of fashion meets on the Mont&eacute;e des Marches . The 77th edition of the <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/culture/cannes-festival-2024-the-official-selection-of-the-77th-edition" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Cannes Film Festival</a> is also crowded with celebrities. From 14 May to 25 May the films in competition will premiere one after another at the Palais des Festivals et des Congr&egrave;s. Opening the film festival are two artists loved by the public, the godmother <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/culture/meryl-streep-cannes-film-festival-2024-award-palma-d-or-red-carpet" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Meryl Streep</a> , honored with the Palme d'Or for lifetime achievement, and the president of this year's jury, the director of "Barbie" <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/culture/history-barbie-doll-fashion" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Greta Gerwig</a> .

The first film screened is the French "Le Deuxi&egrave;me Acte" by Quentin Dupieux . Among the big names in competition , Francis Ford Coppola returns to the Croisette after many years with the new film "Megalopolis" . While after the great critical and public success with "Povere Creature!" , Yorgos Lanthimos presents "Kinds of kindness" at Cannes . The only Italian director in competition is Paolo Sorrentino with "Parthenope" . Among the Hollywood celebrities on the red carpet of the festival, the beautiful Selena Gomez , at Cannes for her performance in "Emilia P&eacute;rez" by Jacques Audiard, Barry Keoghan with "Bird" by Andrea Arnold and Jacob Elordi with Paul Schrader's "Oh, Canada" (with Uma Thurman and Richard Gere ).
