Collagen is a structured protein found in various parts of the body such as skin, bones, connective tissue, tendons and cartilage. There are 29 different types of collagen. The three most important are:

Marine collagen
Sea collagen (also called marine collagen) is obtained from the scales and bones of fish. Cold-water fish such as cod or monkfish are mainly used. Marine collagen has small molecules and is most similar to human collagen. This makes it particularly easy to absorb and utilize. It mainly contains type 1 collagen and small amounts of type 3 collagen. Perfect for the beauty factor, as these types are found in skin, hair and nails.

Bovine collagen
Bovine collagen (also called bovine collagen) is obtained from the skin, bones and tendons of cattle. Similar to marine collagen, it contains a high proportion of type 1 collagen and a low proportion of type 3 collagen. However, the molecules of bovine collagen are slightly larger, which leads to lower bioavailability. However, bovine collagen has a stronger positive effect on bone density.
