The Roman headquarters of the famous gallery founded in San Gimignano, inside the St. Regis Grand, stages &quot;Color and Light, the Latest Works&quot; by Michelangelo Pistoletto.

There are many exhibitions to celebrate the 90th birthday of the master of Arte Povera Michelangelo Pistoletto, starting with the one in the Chiostro del Bramante in <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/who-was-at-the-valentino-x-mytheresa-party-in-rome" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rome</a> and "La Pace Preventiva" in the Sala delle Caryatidi of Palazzo Reale in Milan. Galleria Continua dedicates 8 one-man shows to him in rotation in its various locations, starting with the historic one in San Gimignano founded in 1990 and continuing in Cuba, Les Moulins, Rome and <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/culture/everything-we-know-about-emily-in-paris-season-4" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Paris</a> while awaiting the autumn vernissages in Sao Paulo, Beijing and <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/travel/five-palm-jumeirah-dubai-5-reasons-to-enjoy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dubai</a> .
New works from the " Colour and Light" cycle, which began in 2014, are presented in Rome, with its fragments of mirrors juxtaposed like a puzzle in acrylic colours (also on jute) because &laquo;breaking the mirror is equivalent to stopping the extension of space and of time, and therefore of reality&raquo; , explains the artist. An object, or rather a medium, the mirror, which already appeared at the beginning of his career (the very first one-man show was in 1960) in the series of "Mirror Paintings" of 1961-62 which include the viewer directly in the work. While for the equally famous (and recognizable) rigid polyurethane <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/art/the-ceramic-sculptures-and-paintings-of-angelina-guez" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sculptures</a> it will be necessary to wait for the beginning of the 80s.

The exhibition can be accessed directly from the very busy Lumen Bar , the internal garden of the St. Regis, a hotel inaugurated in 1894 by the will of the Marquis of Rudin&igrave;, a career as a deputy and for a few years as president of the council of the Kingdom of Italy, which he considered fundamental the opening in the capital of a grand hotel that could attract sovereigns, heads of state and the high international aristocracy. Project in which he involved the most famous of the hoteliers of the time, C&eacute;sar Ritz .
Originally the Grand Hotel de Rome, it became the St. Regis in the late 90s, thanks to the structural affinity with the style of the brand founded by John Jacob Astor IV . Entirely renovated in 2018, mixing historical vestiges and respecting the grandeur of the structure with contemporary codes, the St. Regis Rome has created a partnership with Galleria Continua, the first foreign gallery with an international program to open in China in 2004. Collaboration inaugurated with a solo show by Loris Cecchini , followed by exhibitions by Ai Weiwei, Daniel Buren, Pascal Marthine Tayou, Sun Yuan and Peng Yu, Leandro Erlich, Jos&eacute; Yaque, Yoan Capote and Andre Komatsu .
