After the success of a first Parisian museum, The World of Banksy, now a permanent exhibition, opened its doors in Brussels last December. The opportunity to discover some 130 works by the most popular street artist in the heart of a museum dedicated to him.

Some say Banksy is a collective, others a woman, still others a black man. One thing is certain: the British street artist fascinates, not failing to be talked about with each new work produced. In Brussels, The World of Banksy , which was once a major exhibition devoted to the mysterious artist, opened the doors of its permanent museum last December. The opportunity for fans to familiarize themselves closely with the subversive art of the anti-capitalist graffiti artist, over a course designed as a world tour of the works of Banksy .

First stop: England, followed by Ukraine, where the artist recently unveiled new works in reaction to the war led by Russia - the gymnast, the judo fight, the woman with the extinguisher -, then Paris and finally the rest of the world, from Australia to Palestine. In total, more than 130 graphs have been reproduced identically by a collective as mysterious as Banksy himself, while the scenography allows us to imagine the setting in which the works were originally produced. A corner of a building, the roof of a bus shelter, on bricks or a concrete wall... The entire frame making up each work has been imagined at the heart of the museum, allowing the visitor to propel themselves as close as possible to the originals, through the world. Many serigraphs are also to be discovered, an opportunity to dive deep into the artist's committed work. &ldquo; We want to highlight the political commitment of the artist, with a real vocation for reflection and exchange ,&rdquo; says Hazis Vardar of the <a href="https://www.banksyexhibition.es/en/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Banksy Museum</a> . &ldquo; We want to present his work to the public, so that they reflect on the reasons which pushed Banksy to carry out these works &rdquo;, he adds.

The Museum even goes so far as to partially reproduce the <a href="https://www.walledoffhotel.com/rooms.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Walled Off Hotel</a> , the hotel that Banksy inaugurated in Bethlehem, overlooking the wall that separates Israel and Palestine. After entering, the visitor is invited to the heart of the matter, moving from the reproduction of a room with a view of the separation wall, to the famous wall itself, compiling a series of works by the artist. Undoubtedly the highlight of the museum, a moving moment, and most certainly the best way to understand the artist and his subject.
