 Some call him Spice Boy, others Becks. In fact, he is the former midfielder, who made his debut for Manchester United, then for Real Madrid, Los Angeles Galaxy, on loan to Milan and finally to Paris Saint-Germain, where he decided to donate his entire salary to charity. A notable football career that gave him notoriety, but consecrating his popular figure was his marriage to <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/victoria-beckham-young-outfits-fashion" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Victoria Beckham</a> - <span style="background-color: transparent; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-ligatures: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; font-weight: inherit; letter-spacing: 0px;">aka Posh Spice, former member of the Spice Girls, entrepreneur and creative director of her eponymous fashion brand - with whom he has his four children. In 2015, the US magazine People awarded him first place in the ranking of the most beautiful men on the planet and today <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/the-dior-men-winter-23-24-collection-is-like-poetry" target="_blank" rel="noopener">David Beckham</a> is an entrepreneur, sports manager, president of Inter Miami and co-owner of Salford City. His passion? The cars: &laquo;The spark struck as a child, they have always been an important part of the long journeys I took with my sister and my parents. It's a passion handed down from my father, he loved them and always told me about them. Then when it came time to buy my first car, I bought a sports one and over the years I have tried to collect them without compulsively buying excessive cars, but focusing more on classic and modern cars&raquo; explains David Beckham. At Milan Design Week, the Trident presented the <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/hommes/dior-takes-the-wheel-with-gran-turismo-7" target="_blank" rel="noopener">GranTurismo</a> Launch Edition Prima Serie 75th Anniversary. For the occasion, the Modena-based car manufacturer has unveiled 3 new masterpieces: the GranTurismo One Off Prisma e Luce, designed by the Maserati Style Center and the Ouroboros in collaboration with Hiroshi Fujiwara, creative director of Fragment. Attending the showcase in Milan hosted by the actress Matilda De Angelis, the music producer and artist Dardust, Hiroshi Fujiwara and Beckham, Style Pioneer and Global Brand Ambassador of Maserati.&nbsp;In presence, the first thing that catches the eye is his classic style, distinguished and effortless, which communicates all his confidence acquired over the years.
 L'OFFICIEL ITALIA: <span style="background-color: transparent; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-ligatures: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; font-weight: inherit; letter-spacing: 0px;">What type of car do you prefer? <span style="background-color: transparent; font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-ligatures: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; font-weight: inherit; letter-spacing: 0px;">DAVID BECKHAM: When I was younger I preferred sports cars, but as you get older you change and become interested in more timeless cars. At my age, one suddenly doesn't need a sports car anymore. It's hard to say which car I like best, but I guess it's a classic car with a modern twist and that's what I love about the Granturismo. But then I also have my MC20 that I drive to the office with and when I drive it, I can still appreciate every single minute of the time spent in that car.

 LOI: By the way, in 2021 you worked on the aesthetic aspect of your custom Maserati MC20 Fuoriserie Edition, with the colors of your football team. How was the experience with the creative team? DB: Quite amazing! The MC20 is already a beautiful car, with incredible performance and a marked elegance. When I met with the design team and head of design Klaus Busse, I realized that his mind worked differently. I spent a few hours with him designing the car and it was one of the most enjoyable things I've ever done. After examining so many variations, in the end we opted for a timeless style that belongs to me for the way I dress, for the hair, now... (laughs), I can't allow myself any more crazy things! We wanted the car to be in <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/culture/formula-one-f1-miami-grand-prix-celebs-spotting-attendees-fashion-racing-track" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Miami </a>and to represent Inter Miami but not in an obvious way. We evaluated different design and colour variants, then said to ourselves: "Let's forget all the ideas and make the car black with little pink accents" and an even more beautiful car was born.

LOI: Have you ever been to Maserati&#39;s company? DB: Yes, that&#39;s where we designed the MC20, we spent time seeing other people working and it was a special time. I got to know their story and felt like I was joining the Italian Maserati family. LOI: Driving a supercar gives you the feeling of having superpowers, how would you describe the experience of driving a Maserati? DB: Oh, every Maserati is one of those cars that you don&#39;t have to see coming, but hear its roar first! But for me it&#39;s not just about this, I&#39;ll give you a concrete example: when I drove the Granturismo in the countryside for the first time, it instinctively made me smile precisely because it&#39;s such a beautiful car to drive. LOI: Learning to drive was kind of a moment of connection with my father for me. Have you also shared this passion with your children? DB: It&#39;s funny that you asked, because Brooklyn and Romeo already drive, while my son Cruz still hasn&#39;t passed his driving test. I think today is different, when I was 16 I couldn&#39;t wait to be 17, I thought: &quot;Okay, I&#39;ll have my first driving lesson on my birthday&quot;. Today&#39;s kids aren&#39;t that interested, but my other two sons couldn&#39;t wait to start riding. So when they were the right age and could do it, they were always in the car with me. I also remember when they were little I always sat them on my lap and let them hold the wheel on a driveway or in an empty parking lot. It&#39;s one of those magical moments that stop time. The best for me. I did it with everyone, with my daughter and with my three sons. LOI: What was it like working on the new campaign? DB: The director was Lino Russell, it was great to shoot this campaign with him. We spent two days together and my dream was to drive on the other side of the driver, but I haven&#39;t succeeded, not yet. Shooting this campaign in Italy was an extraordinary day. The team did an incredible job, I remember we had a crew next to me, behind me and a camera on the side of the car.

GranTurismo and David Beckham - From you to a new you

LOI: Maserati introduced a 100% electric car for the first time in history. Have you tried it? DB: I&#39;ve seen it, but sadly haven&#39;t had the chance to drive it yet. Tried to drive only the petrol version. She was literally next to me, I took a picture of her and I said to myself: &quot;I&#39;d like to take her out&quot; and they said: &quot;Hmm, you know.. not yet...&quot;. I hope to try it very soon. LOI: Let&#39;s talk about the GranTurismo One Off project, with the presentation of the Prisma and Luce models, and the Ouroboros in collaboration with the Japanese designer and founder of FRAGMENT, Hiroshi Fujiwara. From your point of view, can a car be an object of art? DB: I&#39;ve always seen the car as a piece of art, because I&#39;m interested in cars, and I&#39;ve always been passionate, so yes. This collaboration with One Off is so important because they are pieces of art. LOI: How does Maserati differ from other brands? DB: There are many big brands, with cars that are incredible in terms of performance and style. There aren&#39;t many cars that you don&#39;t have to see coming to know exactly what it is. And when you see it coming it looks stunning and it&#39;s a beautiful car to drive. We British, having a lot of history in our country, have a particular focus on heritage, this is another important point for me. Without a doubt it is one of the reasons why I wanted to be part of the Maserati family.

LOI: How is your relationship with the guide? DB: It's honestly one of the most important things in my life and always has been, even at a young age. Whenever I was stressed out, missed a soccer game, or had something worrying me, all I did was get in the car and drive. Somehow it's an activity that clears my head, I've always been that way. People are surprised when I say I drive, but I don't like being a passenger, I like being in the driver's seat. It's not about control, I just love to drive. LOI: What is the greatest satisfaction in your life? DB: Apart from my family? Driving, I'm not saying this because we're talking about Maserati, but because people have different things that distract their mind, like cooking or going for a walk. Mine is driving.
