It&rsquo;s got glitz and it&rsquo;s got glamour, but it&rsquo;s also got awe-inspiring nature and a seriously offbeat reputation. In short, it&rsquo;s a lot like Ibiza in the Alps. Follow us on a whirlwind tour of Swiss ski resort Verbier as we show you where to find the winter alternatives to all your island faves.

<h4 style="text-align: justify;">If you like Experimental Beach then try:&nbsp;</h4>

The French have got a hold on Verbier like you wouldn&rsquo;t believe, and for good reason. The ultra-hip Experimental Group (London, Paris, New York, <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/travel/matilda-s-goad-s-guide-to-menorca" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Menorca</a>) operates one of Ibiza&rsquo;s coolest beach bars, Cap d&rsquo;es Falco&rsquo;s mythical <a href="https://www.experimentalbeachibiza.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Experimental Beach</a>, and their expansion into the Swiss ski resort hits all the same high notes. Expect high design, extraordinary service and some of the finest food in resort in the Experimental Chalet, a ravishing renovated wooden chalet that&rsquo;s part hotel, part restaurant and part cocktail bar, with the town&rsquo;s prettiest spa to boot. The lobby bar &ndash; all cosy corners, low-level lighting and snuggly velvet sofas &ndash; is the place to head after a hard day on the slopes, where one of the hotel&rsquo;s game changing mixologists (Experimental Group built their reputation on cocktails) will mix you something suitably enlivening. Follow that up with a steam and sauna in the monochrome-tiled hammam (and a dip in the frozen plunge pool for the bravest of souls) before heading downstairs to the wood-panelled, fireside, farm-to-table restaurant where mountain bistro classics &ndash; steak frites, roasted duck &ndash; are given a super-slick touch by wunderkind Gregory Marchand (nicknamed &lsquo;Frenchie&rsquo; by Jamie Oliver during his tenure as head chef of London restaurant Fifteen). Rooms are as luxe as you&rsquo;d expect, with terrace hot tubs and panoramic Alpine views, but there won&rsquo;t be much sleeping to be had if you end up in the chalet&rsquo;s mythical Farm Club, arguably Verbier&rsquo;s most iconic nightspot and scene of many a J&auml;erbomb-fulled dance-off between Euro aristos and minor royals.

A spin-off of London&rsquo;s established 67 Pall Mall, the new Alpine outpost is Verbier&rsquo;s first member&rsquo;s club and is a louche and laidback addition to the resort&rsquo;s high-end scene. The club&rsquo;s main focus is wine, and the vast, light-flooded Clubroom, on the upper floor of the traditional chalet, is perhaps the most dramatic spot in Verbier to enjoy a glass. A lower-level Bar &agrave; Vin is open to the public, with casual fireside dining and bistro menu. An ultra-slick, high-spec basement gym seals 67 Pall Mall&rsquo;s reputation as the most coveted ticket of the year.

Much-hyped new addition The Shed Hotel ticks so many travel boxes. The laidback, contemporary-styled hotel (courtesy of a trio of Swedish ski pals) has a youthful, sporty appeal (expect vintage ski posters and great modern art) along with all the cosy touches that make mountain hotels so great &ndash; think cushion-filled snugs lined with reindeer hides, a great soundtrack and stacks of art and lifestyle books to read by lamplight. The whole hotel is abuzz with life, but the highlight is the informal Italian restaurant and bar where stone-baked pizzas are cooked in their hundreds for an upbeat crowd of locals, cool kids and more than the odd celebrity snowboarder. One to watch.&nbsp;

<h4>If you like Pacha then try:</h4>

<a href="https://www.hotelfarinet.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Le Farinet</a>
While it&rsquo;s true that the town&rsquo;s oldest hotel has been transformed into a chi-chi boutique getaway, you&rsquo;re not really here for the rooms. Le Farinet&rsquo;s USP is the wildest apr&eacute;s-ski in the Alps, and they sure know how to throw a party. Smack in the centre of the resort (stumbling distance with ski boots on) Le Farinet&rsquo;s lounge bar and nightclub are the stuff of legend. Live bands every night, retro schnapps-fuelled shots galore and a rotating cast of famous faces and public schoolkids dancing on the bar (long-time Ibiza resident James Blunt is a Farinet fan) make this one the go-to for a night you&rsquo;ll never remember.

<h4>If you like Ibiza Food Studio then try:</h4>

Hidden behind an unmarked door Le 22 is Verbier&rsquo;s first ever speakeasy, a cosy, cosseting and totally incognito restaurant at a secret address. Headed by Thomas Vado, an alumnus of the kitchens of Alain Llorca, 22 is open Thursday to Sunday only and offers a five-course set menu of the chef&rsquo;s choosing. Presentation is sublime, the company generally excellent and the section of French wines and cheeses is magnificent.&nbsp;

<h4>If you like Open Space then try:</h4>

<a href="https://www.inspireverbier.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Inspire</a>
The expansive, humbling surroundings of Verbier lend themselves well to deepening your yoga practice, and central Verbier&rsquo;s Inspire studio is the place to hit the mat. While yoga is the core of the studio, a jam-packed daily schedule also includes Pilates, spin, HIIT and TRX. Bodywork is also a highlight, with massage, facial yoga and micro needling all on offer. The bamboo massage uses heated bamboo sticks rolled over the muscles to break down tension and stretch tight muscles for a super effective as an apr&egrave;s ski treatment. In summer, the Inspire Yoga Festival is a boutique mountain festival and retreat that atracts some of Ibiza's top wellness practitioners.&nbsp;

<h4>If you like Beso Beach then try:</h4>

Not easy to get to but oh so worth it. New York minichain Black Tap has pitched up in the most unlikely of locations &ndash; a pseudo igloo at 3000m &ndash; bringing craft beers and juicy American-style cheeseburgers to a mountainside near you. Black Tap is the second-highest restaurant in the region and as such attracts a suitably rad crowd of skiers and snowboarders for its award-winning burgers, CrazyShakes, Texas chicken wings and crazy hot chocolates. The restaurant faces Verbier's famed Bec Des Rosses, site of the ultra-high-stakes Freeride World Tour and gets suitably wild come apr&eacute;s-ski.&nbsp;
