From Rita Ora&rsquo;s nail technician to Poppy Delevingne&rsquo;s makeup artist, we meet the therapists who have put Ibiza on the beauty map.&nbsp;

A professional <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/soul-spirituality/makeup-artist-ehlie-luna-beauty-is-incomplete-without-wellness" target="_blank" rel="noopener">makeup artist</a> for over two decades, Jo Mackay&rsquo;s client roster includes ASOS, Alexandra Miro and Makeup Revolution, not to mention cover shoots with Grazia, Numero and a luminous Poppy Delevingne for <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/portraits/poppy-delevingne-blazing-a-trail">L&rsquo;OFFICIEL IBIZA</a>. A self-confessed eyebrow obsessive, what she doesn&rsquo;t know about brow care is arguably not worth knowing.&nbsp; &lsquo;Brows transform the face. You can do the most gorgeous makeup in the world, but if the brows aren&rsquo;t right then the whole look will be off. Brows frame the eyes and they can really change the face shape.&rsquo; As far as techniques go, Mackay delivers the whole spectrum, from a regular shape and tint through to semi-permanent microblading. <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/beauty/brow-lamination-the-trend-for-eyebrows" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Lamination</a>, however, is a new passion, using a professional solution to straighten brow hairs and place them in a more upright position, giving a full and fluffy appearance. &lsquo;Clients love brow lamination because it gives real definition and requires very little upkeep other than a comb-through each morning&rsquo; says Mackay. &lsquo;Even in Ibiza&rsquo;s salt and sun environment it will last for weeks.&rsquo;

Even if brows can withstand Ibiza&rsquo;s harsh climate, it&rsquo;s a different story for the skin. As Ibiza&rsquo;s favourite facialist, <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/beauty/skin-flooding-new-tiktok-trend-or-a-long-standing-korean-standard-skin-care-art" target="_blank" rel="noopener">skincare</a> expect Frederika van Hagen has seen it all. &lsquo;Sun, wind and seawater are super aggressive and can lead to pigmentation, fine lines and an overall weathered look&rsquo;, she says. &lsquo;My clients need deep hydration, facial massage and forward-thinking techniques to reverse these signs of <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/beauty/find-out-how-stress-affects-skin-aging-with-this-ma" target="_blank" rel="noopener">skin aging</a>.&rsquo; Van Hagen&rsquo;s preferred technique is facial acupuncture - also known as cosmetic acupuncture &ndash; which uses traditional <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/beauty/cultural-significance-gua-sha-traditional-chinese-medicine-skincare" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Chinese medicine</a> methods of needling the epidermis to improve the health and appearance of the skin on the face, neck, and chest. 'Cosmetic <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/soul-spirituality/the-effect-of-acupuncture-on-pain-relief" target="_blank" rel="noopener">acupuncture</a> is nature&rsquo;s answer to Botox, penetrating the skin with tiny needles in order to stimulate collagen production and reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles,' says Van Hagen. &lsquo;I love to combine facial acupuncture with LED light therapy and soundwave vitamin infusions - combining modern techniques with ancient wisdom. By looking at the root cause of your skin concerns we can really make a long-lasting change. This is a 360-degree approach to skincare rather than always just scuffing the surface.&rsquo;
Facial acupuncture also aims to balance the body's energy, or Qi, which can positively affect various health issues such as digestive problems, <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/food/why-a-stable-blood-sugar-level-is-so-important" target="_blank" rel="noopener">hormonal imbalances</a> and sleep disorders. The benefits haven&rsquo;t escaped Ibiza&rsquo;s celebrity visitors &ndash; Rita Ora was snapped on Van Hagen&rsquo;s treatment couch in August, her face stuck full of micro needles, leading Van Hagen to dub Ora the &lsquo;dream acu-babe&rsquo;. &lsquo;Often, we think of facials for lifting and tightening,&rsquo; says Van Hagen, &lsquo;but beauty can also come from a calm face. The treatment is so deeply relaxing that the client leaves looking rested and centred, with wide clear eyes and a softer, more serene expression.&rsquo;

Van Hagen wasn&rsquo;t the only therapist to get the call from Rita Ora - Ibiza&rsquo;s top nail artist Keely Cooper is the glam girls&rsquo; go-to for <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/beauty/4-season-nail-art-trends" target="_blank" rel="noopener">nail art</a> and gave the pop icon a colourful mix&rsquo;n&rsquo;match look that went viral when Ora posted it on Instagram. &lsquo;I went to art school, so nail art has really become my signature,&rsquo; says Cooper, who counts superstar DJ Peggy Gou, Charlotte Tilbury and Armani among her clients and uses non-toxic gel that is kinder to nails. &lsquo;Nail art has become super popular in recent years because it&rsquo;s a fantastic way to update your look without a huge amount of commitment.&rsquo; Cooper&rsquo;s signature look for this season is the <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/beauty/lip-gloss-nails-manicure-nail-art-trend" target="_blank" rel="noopener">&lsquo;lipgloss mani&rsquo;</a> &ndash; a hyper-glossy nude nail that can be accentuated with tiny dots of colour. &lsquo;Often influencers want something discreet as they want to keep the same nail for various looks. The lipgloss mani works with everything.&rsquo;&nbsp;

And if that hip nail design doesn&rsquo;t last long&nbsp; enough, there&rsquo;s always permanent makeup. &lsquo;It&rsquo;s not about changing the face; it&rsquo;s about enhancing the <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/beauty/6-healthy-glow-products-for-fans-of-super-natural-beauty" target="_blank" rel="noopener">natural beauty</a> that&rsquo;s already there&rsquo;, says Giulia Bazzani, the Italian makeup artist and Ibiza&rsquo;s most in-demand practitioner of permanent makeup. Bazzani is at the forefront of the micropigmentation trend that&rsquo;s sweeping the beauty world right now, with fans including <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/victoria-beckham-young-outfits-fashion" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Victoria Beckham</a>, Jennifer Lopez and Eva Mendez. But just what is permanent makeup? &lsquo;Permanent makeup is not an alternative to regular makeup&rsquo;, says Bazzani. &lsquo;It shouldn&rsquo;t transform your appearance, instead it should add definition and enhance your own unique features.&rsquo; Bazzani specialises in fine line micropigmentation of the eyes, particularly permanent eye liner, which uses the same process as tattooing but in a gentler fashion. &lsquo;Permanent eyeliner works especially well in Ibiza because we spend so much time in the sea and in the heat. Regular makeup doesn&rsquo;t stand a chance. In addition, most people don&rsquo;t actually know how to do their eyeliner correctly.
