Born in Bergamo, the Serbian singer-songwriter Sarita spent her early years modelling in Milan. Following a chance visit to Ibiza in 2008, she fell in love with Ibiza and moved here in 2012. Sarita plays the guitar and the piano and is producing her first album, a mix of blues, folk and eighties synth-pop.&nbsp;

What are your earliest memories of Ibiza and how did you end up living here?
I came here the first time with an old boyfriend. We were staying in Playa den Bossa at ﬁrst I actually hated it because it was so built up and we were going to all the <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/music/modern-muse-the-ibiza-life-of-dj-chloe-caillet" target="_blank" rel="noopener">clubs</a> and I thought &lsquo;what the hell is this place?!'. Two years later I came back because I was supposed to do a season in <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/formentera-s-fascinating-history" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Formentera</a> as a dancer. A friend of mine invited me to stay a couple of days and promised me that he would show me the other side of Ibiza &ndash; the great reveal! I was blown away by its nature, the valleys, and seeing the island through his eyes - I remember stopping at <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/the-end-of-an-era-as-bar-flotante-shutters-this-week" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Bar Costa</a> in Santa Gertrudis and having this amazing but simple experience with the food. To cut a long story short, I fell in love with the island and with him too!
Where is home on the island and why?
For now, it&rsquo;s in the countryside in <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/hidden-beaches-on-ibiza-s-answer-to-big-sur" target="_blank" rel="noopener">the north</a>. I live with a singer and musician and their kids. I feel very blessed.
Sunrise or sunset?
Both are special, but with my job I manage to see sunsets a lot more than sunrises!
North or south?&nbsp; City or campo?&nbsp;
My preference is 100 percent north, for the energy, the vibe, the <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/four-fabulous-places-to-pick-up-beach-picnic-in-ibiza-this-weekend" target="_blank" rel="noopener">local supermarkets</a>, the nature, the restaurants, and the people. The people in Ibiza are a very special mix and it&rsquo;s not like something I&rsquo;ve found anywhere else.

What is your favourite place to eat and why?
One of my favourite places is La Paloma in San Lorenzo, either the caf&eacute; by day or the restaurant by night. My favourite dish is farinata di ceci con scamorza. It&rsquo;s on the supper menu.&nbsp;
Where can we find the real Ibiza?
I would say that everything is real, even the club scene and villa parties are real - it just depends on what &lsquo;real&rsquo; means for you. If we talk about authenticity then you have to hang out with local people and experience that side of Ibiza, away from the money and the celebrity and the gloss. Winter is good for that.&nbsp;
What is your favourite beach and chiringuito and why?
I love Cala Nova. I love its spaciousness and its wildness, especially when there are big waves. I can stand with the wind streaming through my hair watching the surfers, and it feels like I&rsquo;m on a totally different island. My favourite chiringuito is the one at Cala Xuclar. It&rsquo;s been there for 17 years and has sort of kept on evolving from a simple little seafood shack into one of the best places to eat on the island. It still looks super simple &ndash; just a shipping container and some chairs under shade &ndash; but the fish and the presentation are quite remarkable.
Describe the magic of Ibiza to someone who has never been?
There is something here that feels out of time and space and things that happen in Ibiza are unique. Sometimes you can&rsquo;t believe the power of manifestation! It can feel like I&rsquo;m in a movie; like I&rsquo;ve been transported to another planet. For me that magical feeling happens often when I drive around the island and put a nice track in the background. I look at the valley, wind running through my hair, sunglasses on and I allow myself to travel in that timeless space in the present moment. The light, Balearic sounds, freedom, awareness, charm, acceptance - I LOVE YOU ISLAND!

Run me through your ultimate day and night?
I get up around 7.30. I like to start the day with <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/design/spiritual-home-anurag-interview-ibiza" target="_blank" rel="noopener">yoga</a> on the roof then I might head into Santa Gertrudis and go for a juice at <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/where-to-find-the-hippy-spirit-of-ibiza" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Wild Beets</a>. I&rsquo;m a raw food chef and I love their take on contemporary vegan cuisine. I might do some journaling while I&rsquo;m there then head to the beach for a swim. I always try to take my guitar when I go to the beach as it&rsquo;s where I feel most inspired. I&rsquo;m quite a lone wolf so I spend a lot of time by myself, working on my plans. I&rsquo;m disciplined with <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/beauty/6-tips-for-creating-a-self-care-routine-in-your-bathroom" target="_blank" rel="noopener">self-care</a> and I like to look after myself. In the evenings I might cook for some friends or perhaps I&rsquo;ll be performing somewhere &ndash; I&rsquo;ve played all over the island this year but I especially love singing at <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/design/fincadelicia" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fincadelica</a> and the <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/six-senses-ibiza-the-wellness-hq-that-was-missing-on-the-ile-blanche" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Six Senses</a>. When I get home, I&rsquo;ll light some candles and wind down in the tranquillity of the finca.
What music is your island soundtrack?
That depends on the mood I&rsquo;m in, but some favourites that are always playing are Chris Isaac&rsquo;s Wicked Game, Ocelote Rojo&rsquo;s &nbsp;Untitled 1 and Conga, by Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine &ndash; an absolute classic!
Who&rsquo;s on your ultimate Ibiza dinner party guestlist?
A small group of <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/categories/music" target="_blank" rel="noopener">musicians</a>, artists and healers so that we can all create a magical jam.&nbsp;
What from/about Ibiza do you miss most when you travel?
Nature, sea, local food
What is your favourite island drive / journey?
I love the drive from San Carlos up and over to Cala San Vicente. It&rsquo;s really wild and the road cuts super close to the cliffs between the pine trees.
