<a href="https://www.instagram.com/louispartridge_?igsh=d214aWd3bW9ldTEz" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Louis Partridge</a> arrives on set very fresh and when he looks at the looks to be shot positioned on the rack, he focuses on the courtesy dressing gown of the photo studio: "Oh wow, this is my favorite look! Let's start with this!". The mood is perfect and the enthusiasm is at high levels. While he jokes about the headphones designed by Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, he bounces from one side of the set to the other and every now and then takes out his analog camera. He wears a pair of gray denim and a Sex Pistols t-shirt, almost recalling his interpretation of Sid Vicious in the 2022 miniseries "Pistol" . His fame grew thanks to the character of Lord Tewkesbury in the Netflix film "Enola Holmes" , in which he accompanied Millie Bobby Brown in the role of Enola, younger sister of the legendary Sherlock Holmes. Partridge is keeping his relationship with American singer Olivia Rodrigo a secret &ndash; fans believe the song &ldquo;So American&rdquo; is dedicated to him &ndash; even though the two showed up hand in hand at the Venice Film Festival. He walked the <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/hommes/prada-mens-show-spring-summer-2025-collection-photo" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Prada</a> Autumn Winter 2022-23 runway and after shooting the editorial he admits he felt: &ldquo;Brilliant and on edge at the same time, but I guess that&rsquo;s the fun of it.&rdquo;
L'OFFICIEL&nbsp;: How did you get into acting? LOUIS PARTRIDGE: In fourth grade I was in a play, playing the female role of Maid Marian in Robin Hood. I had fun on stage, with the wigs and the staging, I like being made fun of by others and being the center of attention. A friend's mother noticed my aptitude and suggested I audition for the National Theatre in London. I tried it, and became an extra in a production of &ldquo;Emil and the Detective&rdquo;, from that moment on I developed a real addiction to acting. I love the adrenaline, the work of the crew and the atmosphere that you breathe.

LO: This year we saw you at the <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/old-hollywood-style-at-the-81st-venice-film-festival" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Venice Film Festival</a> &hellip; LP: I loved Venice! I think it's magical, when you describe it to someone it seems like a fairytale place, and it is exactly like that. I had a special time, the festival is glamorous and sexy, I'm grateful to have been on that giant red carpet. LO: Let&rsquo;s talk about your role in the upcoming TV series &ldquo;Disclaimer &rdquo;. Who is Jonathan Brigstocke? LP: He is so many different things, it's hard to pin him down because his role depends on who's judging him and who's watching him, so he's a different person to his mother than Catherine, the protagonist of the series. I always thought of a young boy on the verge of adulthood, experiencing his freedom for the first time. He's spontaneous, very relevant and basically a good guy. A little shy at times, but willing to try new things. 
LO: Did you find any common ground with your character? LP: I'm quite clumsy and awkward. I often say things I shouldn't, I'm slightly out of place, I interrupt conversations and then have to apologize. I think it's part of who I am. Jonathan definitely has a mix of all of this and the director liked me to accentuate these character tendencies of mine as much as possible. Now I'm a bit in the same phase as my last role and without doing it on purpose I even wore the shorts I had on in the series to travel for two months in Thailand with a camera always in my hand, just like in the episodes. Sometimes the line between art and real life is thin.

LO: Do you follow a specific acting method to get into the part? LP: I haven't found a foolproof method and I don't think there's a precise recipe like when you make a cake. It's important to have an idea of who you're playing, anticipate behaviors, trust the director and let yourself go and have fun. In the process of identification there's room for doubts and fears, especially when you're dealing with people who do everything they can to get into the role. We actors are a cog in a system, sometimes you just need to stay in your place and say your lines without emotion. LO: By the way, how was it working with the cast of &ldquo;Disclaimer&rdquo;? LP: There were some of my heroes on that project: Cate Blanchett, Lesley Manville and Sacha Baron Cohen. Unfortunately I didn't spend much time on set with them, but I worked a lot with Leila George D'Onofrio who was brilliant. We shared very intense scenes together, so we needed a lot of mutual trust and professionalism. LO: And what was it like working with Alfonso Cuar&oacute;n? LP: Challenging, because he has a very precise idea of what he wants to see on the screen and has a very peculiar vision. It was gratifying, because when we closed the scenes we saw him get excited like a child. Often the process to get there was complicated, but we also had fun. The result is better when you are under pressure or out of your comfort zone because you are pushed in a direction you would not go. Working with someone who has such a clear vision of the result leaves no room for doubt. I felt in good hands, he is a legend of cinema and &ldquo;Y tu mam&aacute; tambi&eacute;n&rdquo; is in my top five favorite films.

LO: Who are the directors you would like to work with in the future? LP: Denis Villeneuve, the Coen brothers, Paul Thomas Anderson and Greta Gerwig. LO: Who are your favorite actors? LP: For a while I wasn&rsquo;t sure what made a really good actor. I would watch actors and hear people say, &ldquo;He&rsquo;s so good,&rdquo; and I would think, &ldquo;OK, I don&rsquo;t recognize goodness.&rdquo; I appreciate Jesse Plemons because he takes risks in every role and brings his spontaneity with him. I recently saw a movie called &ldquo;Sing Sing&rdquo; made by non-professional actors, and they were incredible. You know, some actors want to do what they want to do: catch the light in a certain way, turn around and say the line while playing with their expressions and they can be vain and constructed. You can see them walk onto the set with their big name and their intentions predefined. I&rsquo;m a fan of those who can dissolve into the part, the wonderful Lesley Manville comes to mind. LO: Is there a genre you'd like to experiment with? LP: I would love to do comedies, I think I'm quite a funny person, I don't know if that comes across enough in the roles I play. I like to laugh and some of my favorite actors are comedians. I think Steve Coogan is one of the best actors around, he was phenomenal as Alan Partridge.

LO: Will there be an &ldquo;Enola Holmes 3&rdquo;? LP: I'm not sure if they have plans for a third film, but I have to admit that I would love to return to the character. That role is also a bit of a comedy and I had a lot of fun playing it. LO: What do you do in your free time? LP: I play guitar, I am a big fan of blues, delta blues and early jazz. Crocheting relaxes me because it is quick to do and a great way to clear my mind. Music and crochet are a perfect combination. I also love jiu-jitsu for exercise.

LO: What is your greatest satisfaction in life? LP: I don&rsquo;t remember ever dwelling on a satisfaction for too long. When I did my GCSEs, exams at school, it was the first time a teacher said to me: &ldquo;If you fail it&rsquo;s completely your fault. You have a chance to make yourself proud and earn something.&rdquo; That summer, I felt the weight of responsibility, I worked hard and, when I got good results, I felt proud and grateful. Maybe I should work on gratitude, as a final practice. LO: Your state of mind? LP: If you can't control it, don't worry.
