Throughout history, high-end jewellery has been regarded as a symbol of wealth and power and is always associated with the words "royalty", "celebrity", "inheritance" and "eternity". It conveys not only the value of the material, but also a visual rigour and a sense of hierarchy order. However, a less peaceful aesthetic change is taking place in the jewellery world today - a lighter, more intimate and even playful style is gradually emerging. We are seeing more and more designers redefine "luxury" with humour, metaphors and cultural contrasts, challenging the inertia of traditional aesthetic symmetry and rationality and resisting the standard routines of consumerism.
