Versace embarks on a new journey with the Spring/Summer 2026 collection, marking the first time a Creative Director outside of the Versace family has taken the helm of the design direction. Dario Vitale not only continues the brand&rsquo;s sensual legacy but also rewrites the definition of instinctive and individual power.

<h2 style="text-align: center;">Inspired by a lavish heritage</h2>

The show was set up as an "art house" at Pinacoteca Ambrosiana - an art space recreated as a private apartment with light sheets, silk curtains in soft light and a quiet, poetic setting.
Inspired by the heritage of the late 1980s&ndash;1990s and the vibrant energy of Miami Beach, the collection blends classic luxury with a modern street spirit. The show space is transformed into a personalised apartment, where light, materials and movement reflect a natural lifestyle &ndash; intimate yet proud. The choice of Pinacoteca Ambrosiana &ndash; an ancient museum used for the first time as a fashion runway &ndash; is also Vitale&rsquo;s way of resonating with the legacy, transforming the art space into a personal stage.

<h2 style="text-align: center;">A symphony of strength, femininity and sensuality</h2>

Vitale&rsquo;s &ldquo;free-spirited sensuality&rdquo; theme is realised through a combination of structure and freedom: a soft blazer draped lightly over denim, a slim tank top hidden under a leather bomber with hand-patched details, layered in a natural yet deliberate way. Each cut-out, open back and loose strap are delicately crafted, expressing a free spirit while still maintaining elegance. The silhouette is portrayed in the spirit of the Mediterranean &ndash; layered, open, but still keeping clear and sharp shapes.
Layered materials such as leather, patchwork leather, silk, denim, metallic trompe-l'&oelig;il and beading are delicately treated, creating a light-catching effect with every movement. Bold patterns &ndash; from signature baroque to striped denim &ndash; blend in an explosive colour palette: azzurro blue, scarlet, acid green, lilac and hot pink. The contrasting yet harmonious colours perfectly express the bold spirit of Versace.

Iconic accessories like Medusa, gold chains, and metallic details are reinterpreted with modern techniques, honouring the brand&rsquo;s signature luxury. Standout designs include metallic bra-and-skirt sets, hot pants, patchwork leather bombers, mixed-metal dresses, and gracefully draped silks of which create a symphony of strength and femininity.
The appearance of Versace's Onitsuka Tiger sneakers further emphasises the intersection between Haute couture spirit and contemporary streetwear energy.
