In an explosion of creativity and nostalgia, Valentino’s Autumn/Winter 2025 pre-collection by Alessandro Michele marks a triumphant return to maximalism . The Roman designer, already a master of historical and cultural references, has built a universe rich in references, textures and details that seduce both nostalgics and the youth of contemporary fashion.
In his "dollhouse of memories", Michele has combined past and present in a kaleidoscope of seemingly contrasting yet harmonious elements. T-shirts printed with slogans such as "Panther 60 Lady" , turbans galore and lace stockings intertwine with pastel motifs such as canary yellow, cherries and Asian-inspired kittens. All seasoned with a tribute to Paris, a city beloved by the founder of the Maison, Valentino Garavani , through charms that evoke the City of Light.
A sartorial narrative without borders
The collection, composed of 62 women's and 28 men's looks, transcends gender boundaries without falling into the predictability of genderless . For men, Michele offers tailored capes and reindeer jackets, embroidered with sparkling details and decorations that recall the splendor of such a romantic era. For her, lush evening dresses in tulle and chiffon , suits with leather details and the essential touch of Valentino red , interpreted in a contemporary way with pieces such as a leather skirt, lace gloves and turbans.
The irresistible Seventies
The influence of the 70s is evident: shoulder bags inspired by those of the student revolt, but reinterpreted in a glam key; paisley, ruffles and bold colour blocks that find a new life. The bows , leitmotif of this collection, recall the founder's legacy and add a touch of romance to garments that know how to speak to the heart.

Accessories and details that conquer
From studded men's lace-ups to Valentino Garavani Nellcôte bags shoulder straps, to turbans that become statement pieces, each element is designed to complete an aesthetic that mixes decadence and practicality. There is no shortage of jewellery rich in details and very modern glasses, perfectly in line with Michele's unique vision.
Despite being a Prêt-à-porter collection, the refinement of the workmanship recalls Haute Couture, making each look a small work of art. Yet, each individual piece - apart from the styling - seems made for today's market without sacrificing the designer's creative flair.
Once again Alessandro Michele offers us a journey through time, paying homage to masters such as Garavani and Lagerfeld , but without losing touch with the present. In this collection we can glimpse not only the love for the fashion of the past, but also an ability to tell new stories through a personal and visionary aesthetic.
