The designer experimented with new shapes and textures as the collection explored the idea of "effortless dressing."

Over the past few seasons, Tory Burch has undergone a shift. Gone are the days of Tory Burch's reputation as the dresser of all things prep (though her signature flats will forever have a chokehold on mainstream fashion), and in is her new title as the tastemaker of ultimate modernity. Every true <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/new-york-summer-outfits-it-girl-style">It girl</a> wears Tory Burch, as her garments have become an equal balance of sophisticated and cool.
For her <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/celebrities-spotted-at-nyfw-spring-summer-2024" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Spring/Summer 2024</a> collection, presented in the newly opened Gilder Center for Science, Education, and Innovation in the American Museum of Natural History, Burch explores the concept of "effortless" and what that means in today's fashion cycle. The collection achieves Burch's masterful ability to flatter the female form, even with experimentation of new shapes and materiality. Organza, draped jersey, satin, crepes &mdash; the interpretation of "easy dressing" was not solely found in silhouette but took shape in weightless textures.&nbsp;
With its collared coat dresses, <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/mary-jane-shoes-to-shop-for-fall" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mary Jane-inspired flats</a>, and mini hemlines, there's something overtly retro about the entire line. And yet, it feels far from dated, much closer to being forward as there simultaneously lives a noticeable futuristic aspect with the hoop hemlines, deep U-necks, and wraparound sunglasses. (Think a modern version of the '60s Space Age).
"We evolved our signatures and experimented with new shapes, like micro-mini goddess dresses," Burch said in the show notes. "Sculptural blazers and tunics with plunging U-necks mirror the aerodynamic curve of accessories. Handbags are molded to rest on the hip, <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/coloured-sunglasses-fashion-accessory-shopping" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sunglasses</a> wrap around the face, and shoes are constructed entirely of round edges. This collection is designed to be lived in, to move with you, and to instill a sense of lightness and optimism."
As we continue to witness Burch's design evolution, this Spring/Summer 2024 collection certainly felt like a marker of what direction Burch will pursue for seasons to come.
