Coperni was founded by Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant in Paris in 2013, with the main inspiration being the “heliocentric theory” of the astronomer Copernicus, from which they decided to name the brand after this famous scientist. During the Spring Summer 2023 show, the brand shocked the world by asking Bella Hadid to appear naked on the runway, only to be immediately covered in a white outfit by being “sprayed” directly on the spot. This was an exclusive collaboration with Fabrican, a technology company specializing in the production of high-performance materials. Thanks to a meticulous calculation algorithm, Bella Hadid’s body was sprayed with a polymer, creating a perfect “second skin”, fitting and sexy. This daring performance not only raised Coperni’s reputation but also engraved in the memory of fashion enthusiasts as a revolutionary moment.

Not stopping there, Coperni’s Fall Winter 2023 show once again surprised with the appearance of robot dogs assisting models in changing outfits right on the catwalk. Inspired by the 17th century fable “Der Wolf und das Lamm” (The Wolf and the Lamb), the show deeply explored the balance between technology and humanity, depicting a vision that was both magical and futuristic.

“Just as Copernicus placed the sun at the center of the universe, we want to place women at the center of our universe,” Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant once shared in an interview. This became the creative philosophy for Coperni’s Spring Summer 2025 collection, when they collaborated with Disney – a symbol of dreams for girls around the world. Inspired by princess fairy tales, Coperni skillfully combined femininity with the brand’s modern style and advanced technology, conveying the message of the image of a new age of enchanting and pioneering women.

Coperni’s iconic Swipe Bag, often referred to as the “Eggshell Bag” for its soft, eggshell-like shape, is one of the brand’s most recognizable designs. While it’s been reimagined every season, few people know that the original inspiration for the Swipe Bag came from the slide-to-unlock feature on the iPhone. The 360-degree zipper design with integrated handles has been an Instagram sensation since its launch, quickly becoming the top of the niche bag segment.
