Off-the-shoulder draperies, see-through fabrics, skin-baring slits and curve-enhancing silhouettes - it seems that the most fashionable clothes of the season this year are designed to enjoy sun-kissed athletic bodies.

As summer approaches, fashion harkens back to ancient <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/travel/mykonos-santorini-guide-greek-islands-hotels" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Greek</a> times, reviving the stories of gods and goddesses, wrapping us in drapery and brooches, wearing <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/hommes/trend-5-brands-to-follow-to-find-the-sandal-at-his-foot" target="_blank" rel="noopener">gladiator-style sandals</a> that show off graceful ankles, and glistening gold <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/bulgari-mediterranea-show-high-jewellery-venice-photos-images" target="_blank" rel="noopener">jewellery</a> that sparkles not only on the wrists, neck, but also in the hair.
 This style is nothing new in the fashion world, even last year the fashion house <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/dior-mumbai-india-pre-fall-2023-fashion-show" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dior</a> took inspiration from it , combining ancient Greece with the theme of sports. However, for a while, the fashion inspired by antiquity was muted, and now it has been reinterpreted by such fashion leaders as Saint Laurent, Loewe and Michael Kors or Salvatore Ferragamo, who have regained demand. Some have taken quite classic variations, while others are much more daring.

Anthony Vaccarello, the creative director of the fashion house <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/culture/saint-laurent-makes-its-cinema-festval-de-cannes-pedro-pascal-almodovar" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Saint Laurent,</a> interweaves antiques and the silhouettes favored by supermodel Grace Jones in his spring collection. This is how drapery modelled dresses with hoods were born, combined with leather raincoats with an extremely wide shoulder line. His Greek-style dresses, which expose the belly area, look no less daring. You will see similar styles, cuts, draperies or fabric twists in the Versace and Ala&iuml;a collections, so paying attention to these details is really worth it.

Style experiments can be attributed to the drapery dresses of the fashion house <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/island-vibes-loewe-x-paula-s-ibiza-superstar-spring-summer-23-campaign" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Loewe</a>, reminiscent of moving sculptures. American designer Michael Kors offers models that are more suitable for everyday use. However, the draped clothes of many designers who chose to interpret antiquity are accompanied by massive metal jewellery: from wide collars, bracelets to large earrings.

If one had to single out the most fashionable garment in the antique style of the warm season, it would be a long dress with a straight silhouette and formed by draperies. It is true that today's draperies are much more practical than they used to be. Back then, Roman togas&mdash;long garments wrapped in pleats around the body&mdash;needed as much as three metres of fabric, while today's dresses and cloaks are made to be light and only imitate Roman or Greek style.

For the day, dresses of light fabric would be more suitable, which would not restrict movements and allow the body to breathe. For the evening, choose a more fitted one with seductive slits or a stylish hood, combine the dress with large, but minimalistic jewellery and gladiator-style high heels.
