Tailored suits and sportswear have always been considered antithetical. This assumption is turned upside down by <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/pharrell-williams-appointed-creative-director-louis-vuitton-menswear-virgil-abloh" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Martine Rose</a> and <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/nft-nike" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Nike</a> who, by combining <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/hommes/how-to-do-sport-while-staying-ultra-style" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sportswear</a> and tailoring, give life to the Nike x Martine Rose collection. But, in practice, what will this collaboration include - from July 25th available on Martine-rose.com and at select Nike retailers? A jacket, a pair of trousers, a trench coat and a shirt. Garments designed for female footballers and inspired by British tailoring codes. And not only that, the collection will be released in conjunction with the kick-off of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia. &laquo; It is the first time that <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/jaquemus-nike-collaboration-minimalism-for-sports-fans" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Nike</a> has been involved in tailoring, and this in itself is really exciting and a privilege&raquo; , said the British-Jamaican designer Martine Rose in an interview with WWD , explaining that for this collaboration she thought of &laquo; more than just tailoring. It's about the women who wear it, about strength, resilience, beauty and power. I wanted women to feel empowered, as men often are." Although she dedicates this collection to a female audience, Martine Rose hopes that a dialogue on gender will start &laquo;hoping that one day we no longer talk about gender in sport, but only about sport&raquo; .
