Francesco Risso makes a historical leap to the origins of man at the Milan Fashion Week for Marni's men's and women's autumn winter 2024-25 collection. Special guests at the show also included Kanye West and his wife Bianca Censori, Ghali and Rose Villain.

MARNI THE AUTUMN WINTER 2024-25 WOMEN'S AND MEN'S SHOW AT MFW

As if we were in a time machine, <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/marni-at-pfw-embracing-parisian-elegance-with-a-playful-twist-of-seduction" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Marni</a> catapulted us into a primitive cave - the tunnels under Milan Central Station entirely covered in white crumpled paper - for the autumn winter 2024-25 women's and men's fashion show. With a live performance on the synthesizer and the songs of a gospel choir, the sculptural silhouettes of Francesco Risso parade, highly sculpted and cleanly structured with geometric dresses, coats and static capes. Primitive men and women parade: &laquo; By manipulating the fabrics, I built an internal zoo for my silence, my whinny, my roar or my hiss (if necessary)&raquo; says Risso in the crumpled press note on the show seat &laquo;Like a animal with all its colours, sports and crests, I had my own private vernacular. And so, after many years, I am still here assembling and dismantling, but the exposed nerve of that original impulse accumulates with para-essential needs, with gears, with planets. For a few months I have been wondering what it would mean to return to that original state of creation."
The&nbsp;autumn winter 2024-25 collection is divided by colours and patterns, starting with blacks then moving on to dark browns and navy blues, vanilla and pinks, the leopard animalier available in two variants and the pictorial coats with a crafty taste which recall the first rock graffiti. The materials are assembled with freedom: the synthetic fur becomes very long and combed, then there are the knitwear onesies, the mohair outfits and the leather. &laquo;As a gesture of communion, we created a paper cave by hand, with the sweet belief that the only way to celebrate this moment is to live inside it: feel, smell, observe and meditate. In the continuous and animal act of digging towards the deepest essence, we have erased more and more of what congests: all the greed for structures and information" and Francesco Risso wants to embrace this message. And he does it with storytelling and his sensitivity.
