Christian Dior Couture announces that Maria Grazia Chiuri has decided to leave her position as Creative Director of the women’s haute couture, ready-to-wear and accessories collections.

Maria Grazia Chiuri bids farewell to Dior today. The first woman to lead the creative direction of the women's collections of the maison founded by Monsieur Christian Dior in 1946, she says goodbye not with a simple greeting but with a solemn and emotional thank you. After almost a decade at the helm of Haute Couture, ready-to-wear and accessories at the Avenue Montaigne fashion house, Chiuri leaves her mark on an era that has woven the founder's elegance with the red thread of feminist thought.

In her greeting, Maria Grazia Chiuri remained faithful to the measured tone that has always distinguished her: "After nine years, I leave Dior with the joy of having experienced an extraordinary opportunity. I thank Monsieur Arnault for the trust he has placed in me and Delphine for her constant support. I am particularly grateful for the work of my teams and the Ateliers: their talent and expertise have made it possible to realise my vision of a committed women's fashion, in dialogue with several generations of artists. Together, we have written an incisive chapter, of which I am immensely proud."

Chiuri has built a visual language in which every seam, every accessory, every message launched through her ready-to-wear - how can we forget the famous slogan tee "We should all be feminists" - and up to the dreamlike creations of Haute Couture, has become an expression of identity and cultural militancy.

The next name at the creative helm of the maison Dior is still shrouded in secrecy - although for months there have been rumours that Jonathan Anderson , appointed creative director of the menswear line, will take over Maria Grazia Chiuri&#39;s legacy.
