Chanel Enchants at the Grand Palais: The Giant Aviary and Timeless Elegance
At Paris Fashion Week, Chanel's creative studio presents - for the first time without a creative director - the spring summer 2025 show.
A few steps from the Champs-Élysées, Chanel returns to the Grand Palais after closing for renovations in 2021. Although the French fashion house is without a creative director, expect a sensational location, from the cruise ship, the carousel or the unforgettable Karl Lagerfeld supermarket that gave incredible shows. For the women's spring summer 2025 show, Chanel presents a huge aviary cage under the glass roof of the prestigious Parisian building.
Light, delicate and moving summer pieces are on the catwalk: transparencies, soft colours and iconic details such as bows and tweed that reflect the legacy of founder Coco Chanel , under the direction of the creative team that still lacks a creative director. The tweed suit or the iconic jacket and skirt set, the layers of chiffon, the floral dresses and the denim that dominated the catwalk.
Riley Keough 's performance warmed up the atmosphere as she swung inside the aviary on a giant swing surrounded by models who closed the show inside the giant white cage, which contrasted with the green pavilion of the Grand Palais. Despite the departure of the last creative director, Virginie Viard, Chanel's timeless heritage continues to live on from collection to collection and the fashion system awaits a new leader at the creative helm.
