On Tuesday, November 4, 2025, the CHANEL Cruise 2025/26 collection officially landed in Singapore. Having first debuted at the magnificent Villa d'Este on the shores of Lake Como on April 29, this collection, inspired by the dreamy hotel life, found a perfect new setting at the legendary Raffles Hotel &ndash; renowned for its timeless spirit and elegance. The cinematic fusion of the two historic settings was formalised in a runway film directed by a close friend of the brand, Sofia Coppola.

The core inspiration of this Cruise collection is &ldquo;hotel life&rdquo; - a concept of constant movement, where luxury and privacy blend. The designs fully embody the spirit of lavish trips, where the wardrobe must be both sophisticated for gala evenings and comfortable for private moments of relaxation. This is clearly shown through the appearance of evening pyjamas. Not simply loungewear, they are elevated to streetwear with luxurious materials such as soft tweed and metallic gold lurex, representing luxurious comfort. This is a romantic tribute to the adventurous and free lifestyle of the upper class, who consider hotels as their second home, where they can maintain their elegant style without restraint.

As the models strode down the runway, the collection once again revealed its multifaceted universe, imbued with diaphanous glamour. Sequin embroidery was the artistic highlight that expressed the festive spirit and splendour of the evening. Rather than just a touch of embellishment, many of the outfits, especially the trouser designs and evening pyjamas, were embroidered entirely with sparkling sequins. This is a high-end craft technique that requires the meticulous placement of sequins to maximise light and movement, transforming the garment into a metallic flow over the wearer&rsquo;s body. This technique contrasted deftly with silhouettes in vibrant pink and orange striped lam&eacute; and short taffeta evening dresses with pastel ruffles, creating a symphony of fixed splendour and floating radiance.

A spectrum of warm, sunny hues and florals burst onto lace and prints, while Cruise&rsquo;s signature codes &ndash; straight-leg white trousers, pea coats and stripes &ndash; evoke a relaxed, timeless vibe. Satin scarves, tied artfully in the hair, around the ankles or wrists, complete the look.
The show was followed by a lively gala night featuring British singer Raye, Indonesian musician Rio Sidik and a DJ set by Singaporean artist Nicolette.
That same morning, 420 students from Singapore&rsquo;s art, fashion and design schools were invited to attend the CHANEL Talk, which was hosted by Bruno Pavlovsky, President of CHANEL Fashion Operations. The conversation, moderated by Tyler Br&ucirc;l&eacute; (Chairman and Editorial Director of Monocle magazine), CHANEL Ambassador Tilda Swinton, producer and friend of the brand Margaret Zhang, Vulture editor-in-chief Clifford Loh and writer Amanda Lee Koe, discussed how local creativity not only inspires but also enriches the global imagination.
