When the Kennedy presidency was inaugurated in Washington on January 20, 1961, everyone present was given a pin bearing a slogan that became instantly famous. "I told you so" - "I told you so". Kennedy won those elections by a very narrow margin, about 100 thousand votes separating him from his challenger Nixon.
