The fragility and grace of the dancers soaring like a fairy on stage have become the designers ’desire to adapt this lightness to high-fashion creations that require exceptional craftsmanship. Thin tulle cascades are one of the most popular hints of classical ballet. The tulle ruffle dresses and skirts seen in the spring and summer collections of the fashion houses Giambattista Valli , Alexander McQueen and Simone Rocha in 2022 are reminiscent of the newly interpreted classic ballerina skirts &quot;tutu&quot;. But when it comes to everyday fashion, to keep these ephemeral tulle clothes from fading like melting memories of dreams, in reality they need stylistic grounding. So a layer of tulle is combined with coarser footwear, leather biker jackets, casual-style headgear and colorful sunglasses.

Ballerina-wearing corsets have also become an inspiration for designers, and the fashion houses Acne Studios , Sportmax and Jean Paul Gaultier have taken over to redesign them . Invited to create the haute-couture collection for the latter fashion house, designer Glenn Martens has made the opening of corsets the main accent of evening dresses.
