The designer brings an ode to Alghero to the spring summer 2024 catwalk with cinematic storytelling made of childhood memories experienced firsthand.

Sometimes the roots become the power of a brand. This is the case of Antonio Marras who, by celebrating his land of origin, Sardinia, with his collections, has managed to open up to the world by becoming increasingly itinerant. And after the recent opening of its new boutique in the beating heart of Rome, it is preparing for summer 2024 by celebrating Alghero with a collection presented during <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/milan-fashion-week-mfw-all-the-best-looks-from-the-runways-2024" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Milan Fashion Week</a> in September. The women's and men's fashion show of the spring summer 2024 collection called "Alghero Interlude", was introduced with a performance by the American star, actress, muse and supermodel, Marisa Berenson. For the occasion, the catwalk was transformed into a Hollywood film set made up of props, directors and the crew who followed the protagonists at every scene move. At the same time, the collection arrives loud and clear, as if it were a tribute to the amazingness of the Sardinian territory. In particular, the inspiration comes from that summer of '67 - which Antonio Marras remembers clearly despite being only 6 years old -, in which director Joseph Losey's crew landed on the island to shoot the masterpiece of cult cinema " The Cliff of Desires&rdquo;.

Symbol of the area, but also of the Marras summer collection, the Capo Caccia cliff, a 186 meter rocky overhang that rises from a sea constantly agitated by the wind and waves. A scenario that is also projected on the giant screens installed for the fashion show. And between one theatrical sketch and another, the poetic collection of Antonio Marras is on display. Caftans featuring illustrations of roses, ecru-coloured tailored suits, bow tops, pencil skirts and very fine summer dresses full of folkloristic references to the mysterious Sardinian territory.
The earthy palette is sampled directly from nature, khaki, burnt sienna, charcoal; contrasted by unsaturated shades of aquamarine, pink, dusty lilac. Utilitarian daywear looks are combined with the romanticism of a rose, a symbol of passion, vanity and beauty perfect for representing the woman and man of Antonio Marras. And even ruffles and lace that crash onto the female silhouette like the waves of the sea and dresses with a couture attitude with embroidery that celebrate sublime nature.
