After almost 8 years, it seems that Alessandro Michele is about to leave the creative direction of Gucci. The reasons for the separation have not yet been announced, official confirmation is expected later today. The question is: will Michele really leave Gucci and who will come after him?

However, it seems that Creative Director Alessandro Michele intends to leave the direction of Gucci, a position he has held since 2015. GUCCI&#39;S MOST RADICAL MOMENTS WITH ALESSANDRO MICHELE

Alessandro Michele conceived many Renaissance-inspired elements in his designs and in the overall identity of the luxury brand. Combining <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/wedding-couture-paris-fashion-week-bridal-runway-photos" target="_blank" rel="noopener">art and haute couture</a>, Gucci's Spring-Summer 2018 campaign featured interpretations of classic <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/art/follow-dau-listen-thuat-phat-hien-buc-tranh-chua-tung-thary-cua-vincent-van-gogh" target="_blank" rel="noopener">paintings</a> with subjects dressed in the latest Gucci collection. Alessandro Michele contacted Ignasi Monreal, nicknamed Utopian Fantasy, to make the campaign a work of art that blends reality and imagination.

Gucci's severed heads were by far the hottest accessory of the Fall-Winter 2018 season. It took six months to make and selected models were privileged to bring life-sized identical replicas of human heads onto the runway for the fantastic fashion show which also included everything from horns, to baby dragons, iguanas and more poetically third eyes. To turn fantasy into reality, Michele collaborated with the Italian special effects studio Makinarium, which created silicone molds of the models' heads for the show. Also, staying on the Camp theme, <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/hommes/mens-haircuts-2022-ideas-inspirations-stars" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jared Leto</a>, Michele's friend and brand ambassador, wore a head-to-toe Gucci look during the <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/art/met-gala-2023-details-karl-lagerfeld-theme-hosts">2019 Met Gala</a>; a bright red floor-length gown paired with rhinestone-encrusted jewels, complemented by a skull carried under the arm.

Alessandro Michele has made sustainability a priority for the Kering -owned luxury brand since his appointment. The designer eliminated the use of fur in 2017, as a means of reducing Gucci's impact on the environment and animals. In the fall of 2019, the brand announced that its Spring-Summer 2020 show and events would be carbon neutral, dramatically reducing the brand's pollution. Just this summer, the Italian house launched its first eco-friendly collection, Off The Grid, using organic, recycled and biomaterials, alongside a virtual campaign featuring <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/look-outfit-beach-fashion-inspired-by-icons-60s-70s-80s" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jane Fonda</a>, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/lilnasx/?hl=en" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Lil Nas X</a> and more.

Alessandro Michele turned tradition upside down during the Gucci Fall-Winter 2020 show. Impressively, the dressmakers are revealed behind the scenes as they prepared the models for the show. When their looks were complete, the models walked up to a clear glass wall in order to appear to the audience in a rotating carousel that gave the impression of a carousel.

Breaking once again with traditional patterns, in Gucci's latest subversive venture "Ouverture of Something that Never Ended" Michele's new collection is told through a seven-episode miniseries co-directed by Michele and the famous Gus Van Sant, a project which is billed as the GucciFest digital film. Starring Italian star Silvia Calderoni and House endorsers <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/harry-styles-gucci-hahaha-campaign-fall-winter-2022-photos" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Harry Styles</a>, <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/music/billie-eilish-music-style-evolution-happier-than-ever-album" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Billie Eilish</a> and Florence Welch, the episodes successfully encapsulate the Gucci ethos and aesthetic from <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/the-enchanting-allure-of-authentic-ibiza" target="_blank" rel="noopener">bohemian</a> interiors and eclectically curated ensembles.
While promoting its minifilms on the GucciFest page, the house has also included 15 emerging designers in its digital project, including Collina Strada, Priya Ahluwalia, Stefan Cooke, Bianca Saunders and Gareth Wrighton who uphold the values of sustainability and gender neutrality , which Michele has held in high regard since his appointment as Creative Director at the fashion house.
