In the first of a series of intimate portraits introducing Ibiza&rsquo;s most remarkable homes and their owners, L&lsquo;OFFICIEL IBIZA goes behind the scenes at Hacienda Nomad.

Raised in the Netherlands by a Dutch mother and Egyptian father, Jasmien Hamed&rsquo;s identity as a global citizen was cultivated in her early years. Following tenure as fashion editor in&nbsp;Amsterdam, Hamid moved to San Francisco aged 21 to pursue a career in the creative arts. She later launched interiors and craftsmanship hub <a href="https://instagram.com/thesecretsouk?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=">The Secret Souk</a>, working on projects between New York and Marrakech with co-founder Nicole Manfron. Jasmien&rsquo;s husband Kourosh Shah was born in Iran and fled to the USA during the revolution. A childhood spent among the rugs and antiques at his father&rsquo;s shop gave Kourosh a curator&rsquo;s eye and a fluid, exotic sense of style. Realising they worked best together, the couple launched their interior design studio <a href="https://www.tresnomadmaison.com/">Tres Nomad Maison </a>and moved full-time to Ibiza in May 2021. Their home, a historic finca with exotic Moorish touches added in the nineties, is the perfect foil for a treasure trove of art, antiques and mid-century icons - the spoils of a lifetime spent collecting things. Here, Jasmien shares the very personal stories behind some of the remarkable pieces that make their house a home.&nbsp;

We built this chicken coop ourselves and it was inspired by designer Tone Alexander's Instafamous chicken coop that he posted in 2019. The base is actually a coffee table from Bali. The legs broke in the move so we used it as the foundation for the chicken coop. And of course, the chickens get a disco ball; we call the coop DC-HEN.'</div>

'This is Kourosh's favorite room. He uses it as an art gallery and it's always changing. The mobile came from our Sausalito house and is probably our favorite item in the room. It changes with air movement so when the doors are open in the summer it brings a good energy to the room.'

'This mirror dates back to 1856 and we found it at a garage sale in California. The mirror survived the 7000-mile journey in a container but when it was unloaded from the truck by the movers in Ibiza, they dropped it and it broke in dozens of pieces. Luckily our dear friend David Leppan has an incredible handyman who is also a trained art restorer. He was able to fix it and it looks even better then before. The chairs area a favorite. I'd wanted Platner chairs, and my friend Blake Kuwahara was at the fleamarket in Palm Springs and posted a little video story on Instagram. I saw the chairs in the background. He got me the phone number of the vendor and I purchased them over the phone. I reupholstered them with vintage zebra fabric. This room turned out to be my favorite.'

'This Anza espresso machine was a house warming present from our very good friends in California. They gifted it to us before we even found our house and it has served as our good luck charm. The machine is made of white Corian, brass and rosewood. It's really quite special.'

'This antique china cabinet was found in an auction in Southern California. I managed to pack it so well that it miraculously arrived in one piece without breaking any of the glass. I was quite proud about that! Everyone who sees it says it reminds them of their grandmother's house which I think it quite sweet. It has real charm.'

'When we found the house, we fell immediately in love with the Al-Andalus / Moorish influences that you see in the arched windows, the doors and the water fountain feature in the courtyard. It felt almost meant-to-be, because we have such a strong connection with and passion for Morocco.'

'This piece was made by Kourosh. When we first met, we took a plaster mold-making class and we cast my foot. Kourosh wrote a beautiful poem, attached it to the toe and hung it on the wall. The poem goes: But I love your foot Only because It walked Upon the earth And upon the wind and upon the waters, until it found me.'

'These statues and figurines where gifted to us by a woman whose husband was a collector of rare Buddhas and Asian artefacts. They lived with over 100 of them for over 30 years until the husband became sick. His wife gifted them to many friends to spread his collection around the world, in order that they could be loved and enjoyed for many more years.'

'This oil painting - by LA-based artist Jon Ching - was the first piece of art Kourosh gifted me. The birds are pulling apart a prayer bead necklace, similar to the one Kourosh has worn for the past 25 years.'

Kourosh always had his eyes on them! When Matt was moving to Mexico he sold a lot of his furniture, so we swooped in and grabbed them! We reupholstered them with a really great deadstock fabric. We designed the little sidetables that sit alongside ourselves and we had them made by artisans in Bali. A sweet little project!'</div>
