<p dir="ltr">A year into their alliance, Eddie (Theo James) and Susie (Kaya Scodelario) seek to expand their criminal empire across the border, from the English estates and basements of the East End to the sun-drenched terraces of the Italian aristocracy and the shady dealings of the mafia.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">On September 3, 2026, <strong>Theo James</strong> returns to <strong>Netflix</strong> as Eddie Horniman, Duke of Halstead, and <strong>Kaya Scodelario</strong> as Susie Glass. A new season in which <strong>Guy Ritchie</strong>, creator and director of some episodes, builds the narrative around a richness that is "never cloying, always provocative, aspirational in every detail," he explains. Matthew Read, screenwriter and executive producer and veteran of "Peaky Blinders," sums up the formula perfectly: "Downton Abbey meets Snatch." One of the greatest strengths of the second season, the screenwriter continues, "is the greater emotional depth we wanted to achieve."</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Indeed, Eddie follows a clear path, delving into the world of crime that he tried to keep at bay in the first season and, at the same time, into an increasingly darker side of himself. &quot;In the first season, Eddie was at the beginning of his journey and was entering the world of crime. He was a man who grew up in a zoo, but who was testing his ability to survive in the jungle,&quot; says Read. Theo James, also a co-executive producer, speaks of a mask that slowly cracks, allowing &quot;a burning rage&quot; to emerge. In the background, the narrative arc of Michael Corleone&#39;s character in &quot;The Godfather&quot; remains, the transformation of a man and the power that inevitably ends up corrupting and corroding him. &quot;Like Corleone,&quot; says Theo James, &quot;Eddie started out as a man of moral integrity, who discovered a talent for crime and, later, a genuine thirst for power and money.&quot;</p>

<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Lake Maggiore, a new Italian chapter for &quot;The Gentleman&quot;</h3><p dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;"> <span>Eddie and Susie try to internationalize the family business and end up dealing with Marco Moretti, the boss of bosses played by Sergio Castellitto, with the soldier Cico played by Michele Morrone and with their goddaughter Isabella Savanza de Parme, known as Bella, entrusted to Benedetta Porcaroli</span> <span>, who arrived after &quot;The Leopard&quot; and a chemistry read with James. She defends Bella from the accusation of being a diplomatic pawn: her relationship with Eddie, she maintains, was born out of feelings and not out of an alliance between families. Italy, says Ritchie, &quot;</span> was an obvious choice, <span>it&#39;s only an hour&#39;s flight from London, but it&#39;s a completely different world, both aesthetically and culturally. I wanted to enjoy its culture as much as I enjoy the English one and integrate them into the series.&quot;</span> The Italian scenes, including a wedding between two characters in episode six directed by Ritchie, were filmed against the spectacular backdrop of <strong data-start="13652" data-end="13669">Lake Maggiore</strong> .</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><span>Production designer Martyn John chose it because it&#39;s less touristy, with lighting and water reflections that made any shot photogenic. Villa Rusconi Clerici, fictionally Bella&#39;s palace, had to reflect the taste, if not the scale, of Halstead Manor: two aristocratic families merging stylistically, with antiques and portraits alongside contemporary pieces.</span> <span>Among this season&#39;s favorite objects are a vintage 1968 Ferrari, brought from the UK with a mechanic in tow, and the seaplane Bella pilots, for which a permit to land on the lake had to be negotiated, according to the production.</span></p>

<h3 style="text-align: justify;">“The Gentlemen” 2 and the wardrobe as a system of power</h3><p style="text-align: justify;"> <strong>Costume designer Loulou Bontemps wanted to explore the idea of ​​maturation.</strong> If the first season was the &quot;Gentlemen&#39;s&quot; adolescence, the second represents their adulthood. &quot;Eddie went from being a former soldier who had no idea how to dress to a true gentleman, always impeccably dressed in perfectly tailored suits.&quot; Susie becomes a figure of almost total control and dresses according to the context, from the golf course to the hunting trip to the table with the mafia. &quot;In one of my favorite scenes, she finds herself in a sort of tropical environment and wears the full version of her &#39;safari look.&#39;&quot; The Italian choices lean toward big brands and national vintage, including scarves and jewelry, but Bontemps clarifies that, while there are moments when her style pays homage to brands like Gucci, &quot;it&#39;s always an homage, never a slavish imitation from head to toe.&quot;</p>
