Prince Philip has been in the public eye his whole life, dating back to over a century ago.

Even before finding his way to <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/portraits/queen-elizabeth-jewels-who-go-inherits" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Buckingham Palace</a>, Prince Philip has always been in the public eye. He grew up Greek and Danish royalty, born in 1921 and raised on the island of Corfu, Greece.&nbsp;The prince then met <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/portraits/queen-elizabeth-young-photos-wedding-coronation" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Queen Elizabeth II</a> (a princess herself at the time) at a wedding in 1934. A bit over ten years later, the couple announced their engagement in 1947 and got married that same year.
The two have since spent a lifetime together on the <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/culture/prince-charles-coronation-king-charles-iii-details-date" target="_blank" rel="noopener">royal throne</a>, and the Duke of Edinburgh only recently passed away in 2021 at the age of 99.
