The designer will be celebrated at the Fashion Institute of Technology&#39;s annual luncheon.

The Museum at FIT 's Couture Council has announced that it will present Simon Porte <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/jacquemus-ready-to-wear-wedding-collection-le-mariage-collection-2024" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jacquemus</a> , founder and designer of the eponymous brand, with its 2024 Couture Council Award for Artistry of Fashion at its annual luncheon. The event will take place on September 4 at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center in New York. It will shortly precede the start of New York Fashion Week, and the profits will be donated to the Museum at FIT , the only <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/culture/history-gay-nightlife-nyc-clubs-drag-ball" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New York</a> museum devoted exclusively to fashion.
The Couture Council's board of directors, which includes Deena Aljuhani Abdulaziz, the founding editor of Vogue Arabia and founder of D'NA, and Sarah Wetenhall, president and owner of The Colony Palm Beach, will serve as co-chairs . Nordstrom is the presenting sponsor for the fifth consecutive year.

Jacquemus , born in the south of France, is now based in Paris. In 2009, at the age of 19, he created his brand, dedicating it to his deceased mother. The playful collections of this self-taught designer refer to the French and Proven&ccedil;al culture of which he is proud. He is recognized for bringing a unique perspective to the Parisian fashion scene with his deconstructed and surreal collections that push the boundaries of fashion with panache.
In 2014, Jacquemus was a finalist for the LVMH Prize and received the LVMH Special Jury Prize in 2015. In 2024, he received the Neiman Marcus Prize for innovation in fashion. His latest achievement was the award of France's highest ministerial distinction, the Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres , making him the youngest designer to receive this distinction.
Whether it's the designer's global micro-bag craze or his flower business, his strong social media presence has been a bombshell around the world. More recently, he moved to <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/longchamp-s-collaboration-with-k-jacques-shoes-bags-spring-summer-2024" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Saint-Tropez</a> to start the summer festivities with the opening of a boutique, a beach and a restaurant. When asked how he sees his brand in ten years, in an interview with <a href="https://www.gq.com/story/simon-porte-jacquemus-show-notes-interview" target="_blank" rel="noopener">GQ</a> last January, he replied: "I still see the same energy around the brand. Something very solar."
