L'OFFICIEL Ibiza breaks down cast updates, potential plot lines, and more information about the second season of the Sex and the City&nbsp;reboot.&nbsp;

When four best friends <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/reformation-recreates-carrie-bradshaw-sex-and-the-city-dior-newspaper-dress" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Carrie Bradshaw</a>, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/samantha-jones-best-style-moments-sex-and-the-city-kim-cattrall" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Samantha Jones</a>, Charlotte York, and Miranda Hobbes appeared on screen in 1998, they charmed audiences with their genuine friendships, their unique fashion senses, and their candid brunch conversations. The<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/sex-and-the-city-reboot-teaser-trailer-premiere-date-hbo-max" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> Sex and the City</a> leading ladies charmed audiences so much so that decades later, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/hbo-max-original-tv-shows-to-watch" target="_blank" rel="noopener">HBO Max</a> decided to <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/tv-show-reboots-you-probably-forgot-about-televison-netflix" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reboot</a> the show. <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/everything-to-know-about-and-just-like-that-sarah-jessica-parker-sex-and-the-city-reboot-2021" target="_blank" rel="noopener">And Just Like That...</a>&nbsp;three out of four of the audience's favorite characters were back to reprise their iconic roles and take on the city once again.&nbsp;
And they're not done just yet. Earlier this year, it was <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CbahMZWpAOD/?hl=en" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> that the reboot was renewed for a second season. Sarah Jessica Parker, the <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/manolo-blahnik-favorite-classic-films" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Manolo Blahnik</a> <span style="font-family: inherit; background-color: transparent; font-size: inherit; font-weight: inherit; letter-spacing: 0px; font-style: inherit; font-variant-ligatures: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit;">wearer, the Cosmopolitan drinker, and the relationships writer protagonist echoed the news with a cast photo on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CbakRadO5iT/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Instagram</a>. Beginning her caption, she wrote, "<span style="font-family: inherit; background-color: transparent; font-size: inherit; font-weight: inherit; letter-spacing: 0px; font-style: inherit; font-variant-ligatures: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit;">Season 2." She continued, "Thank you to our audience. Plain and simple. You are our heartbeat. We love you so. X, SJ."​​
In honor of some exciting news (keep reading!), L'OFFICIEL shares everything we know about Season 2.&nbsp;

Don't worry, Carrie, Charlotte (Kristin Davis), and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) aren't going anywhere. According to <a href="https://deadline.com/2022/03/and-just-like-season-2-renewed-hbo-max-1234983968/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Deadline</a>, the three leads will reprise their roles. New York's favorite cringy comedian Che Diaz (Sara Ram&iacute;rez) and the fashionable Lisa Todd Wexley (Nicole Ari Parker)&nbsp;will also be returning for the upcoming season.&nbsp;
While fans had hoped that Kim Cattrall, who played the openly sensual and confident Samantha Jones, would decide to hop on the <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/who-is-katerina-tannenbaum-and-just-like-that-actress-model" target="_blank" rel="noopener">AJLT</a> train, it seems it just isn't in the cards&mdash;and especially after Cattrall and Parker's public <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/shocking-celebrity-feuds-kanye-west-kim-kardashian-pete-davidson-taylor-swift" target="_blank" rel="noopener">feud</a>.&nbsp;In May, Cattrall told&nbsp;<a href="https://variety.com/2022/tv/news/kim-cattrall-and-just-like-that-sex-and-the-city-3-1235256472/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Variety</a>, &ldquo;It&rsquo;s a great wisdom to know when enough is enough.&rdquo; She continued,&nbsp;&ldquo;I also didn&rsquo;t want to compromise what the show was to me. The way forward seemed clear.&rdquo;
Parker has also previously commented on Cattrall's potential return. According to an interview with <a href="https://variety.com/2022/tv/news/and-just-like-that-finale-spoilers-michael-patrick-king-sarah-jessica-parker-1235170531/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Deadline</a>, Parker said she doesn't think she would be OK with her returning and that "there&rsquo;s just too much public history of feelings on her part that she&rsquo;s shared.&rdquo;
But there's good news for fans of the original show. John Corbett is <a href="https://deadline.com/2022/08/john-corbett-and-just-like-that-aidan-shaw-season-2-sex-and-the-city-sequel-1235095875/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reportedly</a> joining the cast for the second season. Corbett played Bradshaw's former flame, Aidan Shaw, in the original series. Their relationship cut a chord with many audience members resulting in the <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/iconic-love-triangles-in-movies-and-tv-twilight-gilmore-girls-bridget-jones" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mr. Big versus Aidan debate</a>.

As per usual, not a lot is yet known, but Season 1 left plenty of room for plot developments. One of <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/reformation-recreates-carrie-bradshaw-sex-and-the-city-dior-newspaper-dress" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Bradshaw's</a> finale scenes ended the way most rom-coms do&mdash;an unexpected, but butterfly-inducing kiss. Her next romantic escapade? Given that the elevator season finale <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/beauty/long-wearing-lip-colors-new-years-eve-smudge-proof-lipstick" target="_blank" rel="noopener">kiss</a> was with Franklyn (Ivan Hernandez), a podcast producer, I'd say he's a top contender. But with Corbett's potential return, there could be something else in the works. And aside from her love life, she has a new <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/celebrity-podcasts-spotify-apple-podcasts" target="_blank" rel="noopener">podcast.</a> So, here's hoping for more Carrie content.&nbsp;
As for <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/sex-and-the-city-book-miranda-hobbes" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Miranda Hobbes</a>, the conventional and rational redhead&mdash;although, she did stay true to her roots and embrace the gray hair this season, until the very end, that is&mdash;does exactly the thing that her younger self would never do. She decides to follow Che Diaz (Sara Ramirez) to Hollywood in pursuit of this new love. Season 2 will surely show Miranda navigating this new stance on life.&nbsp;
And <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/best-fashion-moments-from-sex-and-the-city-hbo-max-reboot" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Charlotte York Goldenblatt</a>? The majority of the season sees her trek through the ups and downs of parenting. The 10-episode reboot ended with a sweet sentiment though, as York takes Rock's place at the "They Mitzvah," leaving her character open to a myriad of possibilities in the next season.

HBO recently confirmed that the second season of the spinoff wouldn't air until 2023, according to <a href="https://www.eonline.com/news/1342976/hbo-max-reveals-when-you-can-expect-and-just-like-that-season-2" target="_blank" rel="noopener">E! News</a>. Filming has officially begun with Parker posting photos on her Instagram wearing an ever-so-fabulous Carrie outfit consisting of a cargo jumpsuit, a <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/fendi-baguette-25th-anniversary-nyfw-runway" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fendi baguette</a> anklet, and the <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/jw-anderson-mens-fall-winter-2022-pre-fall-womens-collection" target="_blank" rel="noopener">J.W. Anderson</a> pigeon clutch. The caption read, "First exterior. Streets of NY. X, SJ."
