L'OFFICIEL IBIZA's Beauty Editor picks her favourite 1970s glam looks to see you through Christmas and beyond.

The 1970s were an era of limitless self-expression, with flower children and hippies spilling over from the 1960s, coupled with the <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/halloween-ibiza-s-classic-clubbing-costumes" target="_blank" rel="noopener">dazzling glam</a> of the rise of disco and the edge of the ascendant underground punk movement. Fashion was individualistic and often iconic, with looks created then that are still referenced today. In Ibiza, the key parties were at <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/portraits/20-questions-with-an-ibiza-insider-dawn-hindle" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Pikes</a>, Glories, KU and Amnesia, where hippy-tinged high glam was the order of the day. I&rsquo;m going to show you how to recreate those KU-tastic looks using some classic products with a modern touch.

1. It wouldn&rsquo;t be the 1970s without a blue eyeshadow. One of my all-time faves is <a href="https://www.clinique.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Clinique</a>&rsquo;s classic Blue Lagoon. Use a big fluffy brush to apply will keep the colour sheer and fresh. I use big circular motions to buff the shadow all over the lid, lightly graduating up to the crease in order to create a wash of colour that gives a nod to the 1970s whilst still looking modern. &nbsp; &nbsp;

2. I&rsquo;m a huge fan of all things<a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/best-looks-studio-54-70s-fashion-style-elton-john-cher-grace-jones" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> Studio54</a> and a touch of glitter on the eyelids is a super easy way to recreate those starry New York looks. If you're a little apprehensive about adding sparkle to the eyes, you can always start off small and work your way up. Using the pressed shimmer from Urban Decay in Moonlight will do the job of subtle sparkle. Using your ring finger, pick up some of the product and simply press it onto the lid with slight pressure - you can use as much or as little as you like, but be careful, you may just become obsessed like me!

3. A glossy <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/beauty/in-autumn-makeup-trends" target="_blank" rel="noopener">red lip</a> was a 1970s fave, so channel your inner Jerry Hall and transform your usual matte pout into something a little sexier. Start off by exfoliating your lips: you can do this by gently rubbing a warm damp cloth over them to create a smooth base for your red. Next apply a thin layer of any balm that you have, making sure to dab off excess. You can either apply your fave red lipstick underneath or go straight on with the gloss for a more sheer look. I love Hourglass High Shine Volumizing Gloss in Icon - a very fitting name for this look. &nbsp;Layer for more intensity and power, or dab for a more wearable appearance, but both are just as kissable.

4. The graphic eyes worn by 1970s punks were a huge statement at the time. You can create something just as iconic but a little less daring with <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/ibiza-girls-steal-the-show-at-the-british-fashion-awards" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Charlotte Tilbury</a>&rsquo;s eye liner in Berry Brown. The brown shade is softer than black, although if you&rsquo;re feeling daring then use Tilbury&rsquo;s Rock&rsquo;n&rsquo;Kohl pencil for a jet-black liner. The super soft effect of the pencil makes the application easier than a liquid, giving you time to sketch on a graphic shape without it setting straight away. Using the corner of your eye as a guide, follow this line upwards with the pencil, and using a small, pointed brush to soften. Trace around the whole eye and leave the waterline bare, giving a bold yet wearable eye look.

5. When I think about 1970s makeup it&rsquo;s hard to escape the lashes - and lots of them! I instantly think of two major icons who wore fabulously &lsquo;lashy&rsquo; lashes - Cher and Diana Ross. &nbsp;Get their look with Tatti Lashes. You&rsquo;ll need tweezers, eyelash glue and patience. Begin by applying the glue on each lash and - most importantly - waiting for the glue to go tacky. Next, apply the lashes beneath your own natural lashes, as close to the lash line as possible. Once you get the hang of holding the tweezers, you'll be a master! Pro tip: applying the lashes all the way along the lashline will open up the eye, mimicking a doe eyed effect. Applying only to the outer corners will accentuate and elongate, creating more of a feline shape.
