Gregoris Pyrpylis talks about Le Trait d&#39;Hermès, forty pencils in irresistible nuances to emphasize the eyes and lips, between references to abstract art and maximum naturalness.

According to Gregoris Pyrpylis, "for Herm&egrave;s, design is not just decorative, it is the very essence of the object, or rather, in the Maison's view, design becomes the object." In Beauty, "first the cosmetic is born, in the final phase we go to <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/hermes-collection-of-spring-summer-2025-shoes" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Pierre Hardy</a> (creative director of footwear and jewellery) with <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/hermes-and-elvira-solana-celebrate-a-century-of-craft-in-barcelona" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Herm&egrave;s</a> for thirty years, who never proposes overpowering packaging on the collection. Together we are like an architect and an interior designer." It is easy to understand why for the Greek make-up artist trained with Tom Pecheux, the two years spent so far as Creative Director of Beaut&eacute; Herm&egrave;s represent "the most creative period of my life." After Le Regard, the new seasonal launch of the brand that has chosen the drop by drop strategy since its debut in 2020 with twenty-four lipsticks, is Le Trait , a collection of forty pencils and an eyeliner to define, emphasize, sublimate the eyes and mouth, always in the name of the creative freedom and innate elegance of the Maison's identity.

Lined up in the trademark orange box, the pencils are the adult version of the Caran d&#39;Ache boxes that made us dream as children, and they unleash the same addictive desire, like in a nostalgic back to school. What makes the difference compared to the same product of other brands are «creamy formulas, perfectly smooth and writing, absolutely not greasy, that blend with the skin, and a selection of nuances found in the Hermès color library, allowing themselves the luxury of presenting colors that are also very similar to each other, a way to mark the territory» .

Among the twenty-four shades for the eyes there are six shades of brown, including the opulent Raisin, «four of green, including the magnificent Vert Malachite, four of blue, including Bleuet, a vivid blue with a hint of white. Blue is my absolute favorite color, I grew up in the Mediterranean, I don&#39;t &quot;see&quot; blue, I &quot;feel&quot; it, it dominates my creativity», underlines Pyrpylis. On her Instagram, pencils are used to trace two-tone or deplacé lines in unconventional points of the face, the eyeliner draws the H of the Maison in a hypergraphic Beardsley motif, in tune with the attitude of the Hermès woman, who for Pyrpylis is «witty, mischievous» . «If Hermès is by definition classic and timeless, here the idea is to dare unlimited combinations until you completely lose the fear of playing with color».

The sixteen lip pencils are used to outline the lip, prevent smudging, and increase the hold of lipstick. &quot;Lip liner has been enjoying a major comeback for at least two years. You can use it alone, blending it with lip balm without necessarily matching them, or as a base for lipstick, or as a finishing touch after lipstick to intensify it.&quot; The most representative product of Beauté Hermès today? &quot;Eyeliner, inspired by the cartridge pens of yesteryear, with the intriguing application gestures it evokes.&quot;
