Designer Tia-Thuy Nguyen crafted "Flower of Life," showcased in France on November 18.

In Vietnam, Thuy Nguyen is no longer a strange name. She is not only known as a fashion designer with the Thuy Design House brand but also as an <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/artist-yazxl-and-her-ibiza-cabinet-of-curiosities" target="_blank" rel="noopener">artist</a> with a considerable breadth of artistic practice. Before college, Tia-Thuy Nguyen was recognised as a "phenomenon". Although she had just begun to be passionate about art, her paintings at that time were selected by several galleries for exhibition. In the late 90s, the golden age of Vietnamese <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/art/lucile-gauvain-my-work-is-inspired-by-artificial-kitsch-and-cliches" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fine Arts</a>, the female artist accumulated a lot of experience in practicing and even selling works at exhibition areas: Gallery Cafe, Gouman Gallery, Hanoi Expo Center in Hanoi or Gallery Impression in France.

Starting from 2011, Tia-Thuy Nguyen has marked her development in the field of fashion and organised exhibitions with young artists. At the same time, she still practices fine arts with oil painting, lacquer, embroidery and colour mixing techniques that reflect the image of Vietnam. 2019 was the year that marked the remarkable development of the female artist when she brought her first work to display at Ch&acirc;teau La Coste, France. By 2022, Tia-Thuy Nguyen continued to make a splash when she returned to the prestigious exhibition area.&nbsp;

Through two works "Silver Room" and the exhibition "Floating in the Nothingness" displayed at Ch&acirc;teau La Coste, she wants to show the audience a different side of herself. Both visits to Ch&acirc;teau La Coste brought positive effects. This is evidenced by the fact that her works have attracted the attention of collectors and art galleries. She is a rare artist invited back for the upcoming third exhibition.
The exhibition is called Flower of Life, the name as well as the works are inspired by the life and losses of Tia-Thuy Nguyen. Sharing specifically, the female artist said she had feelings and thoughts about "Hoa Life" after the passing of her beloved father in 2022.

&ldquo;The fact that he is no longer with me has helped me return to the values ​​and memories we shared, and I have learned to cherish every moment in life. The loss prompted me to reflect more deeply on pain, the meaning of death, and the process of rebirth. This is also the inspiration for me to develop the work 'Flower of Life' and explore the possibility of reuse and regeneration in life. I believe that everything in this world has the ability to change and develop. grow, just like a dead tree can become a beautiful work of art," Tia Thuy Nguyen said.
Because she takes inspiration from life, the <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/art/interview-eva-fabbris-candice-lin-amy-lincoln-sang-a-han" target="_blank" rel="noopener">female artist</a> said she has never felt exhausted of inspiration. Starting to pursue fine arts in 1999, Tia Thuy Nguyen has more than 20 years working in painting and 12 years participating in the field of fashion design.

The exhibition derived from "Hoa Doi" with a thoughtful installation art product by Tia-Thuy Nguyen took place from November 18 at Ch&acirc;teau La Coste, Aix provence, France. Here, the main work created by the female artist is based on the trunk of an 18m tall dead oak tree on a French road.
It took Tia Thuy Nguyen 2 years to complete this work based on a dead oak trunk. She relied on the original structure of the tree trunk, and welded many steel sheets on top. Workers use a highly difficult welding technique to cover the tree trunk with stainless steel plates, creating rough grooves and grooves that cling to the rough bark to create a iridescent iridescent cover. sparkles when light shines on it. Tree branches are made with gradually smaller cross-sections like real tree branches, handcrafted in Vietnam and then transported to Chateau La Coste. Thousands of stainless steel leaves hang suspended and "flowers" are made from colourful, reflective quartz stones. This entire metal plating process takes more than 3,000 man-hours and nearly 1 ton of welding rods.

The derivative exhibition from "Hoa Doi" includes more than 10 works spanning many genres and materials: reliefs, double-sided embroidery made from steel wire, oil paintings, appliques and tells another story, a different perspective and many different techniques of the work "Hoa Doi", but still keeping the story about energy and the play with light.
Talking about the above achievement, the female artist confided: "What I am most proud of is that I have contributed to bringing international audiences closer to the country's fine arts.
