In her current work, Cypriot artist <a href="https://www.instagram.com/faniagisilaou/">Fani Agisilaou</a> has shifted her focus to painting to explore the concept of <a href="https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intimismus_(Malerei)">intimism</a> , which illustrates personal and intimate experiences. Fani's latest series of works is based on <a href="https://phaenomenologie.univie.ac.at/forschung/">phenomenological research</a> that examines the subjective experience of an individual - in this case Fani himself. In her art, she creates a mix of works arranged into a visual diary, speaking of pivotal events in the life of a "certain girl" and her dual role as actor and observer as those events unfold.
By consciously positioning herself as an observer, the artist, who studied in <a href="https://www.uca.ac.uk/study/subject/fine-art/">England</a> , is able to gain a broader, more holistic understanding of the dynamics and phenomena. <h4>What does contemporary art mean to you?</h4>
Fani Agisilaou: "In my experience, contemporary art offers artists a space to explore and express their personal experiences and interpretations of the world around them, often without being constrained by traditional artistic movements or styles. As such, it can be an important Be a form of cultural commentary and a way for artists to provoke thought and discussion."

Fani Agisilaou: "I would like to refer to some living female artists! I can say that I have had many role models over the years, but lately I particularly admire the work of In&egrave;s Longevial, Robin Frances Williams and Hope Gangloff. All three are female painters and I love their work, each for different reasons. <a href="https://www.instagram.com/ineslongevial/?hl=de">In&egrave;s Longevial</a> 's work is so gentle yet powerful. Her work is often characterized by simplified forms and flat spaces, with a focus on the human figure, particularly female bodies, and she is very personal from my perspective. <a href="https://www.instagram.com/robinfrancescawilliams/?hl=de">Robin Frances Williams</a> paintings are very powerful. The way she explores and experiments with texture, flow and movement within the paintings is unique. <a href="https://www.instagram.com/hopeloff/?hl=de">Hope Gangloff</a> creates these strong and colorful figurative paintings and portraits, in which family members and friends are portrayed and she manages to be the only capturing the great personalities and characters of each individual. Her figurative style is very expressive and she often uses vibrant colors and powerful lines. I just love everything about it."
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">What vision does your art pursue?</h4>
Fani Agisilaou: "Honestly, I think my 'vision' can be very personal. It serves as a way to process my own emotions and experiences, so it often deals with identity, memories or relationships . I know I mean it I use work to communicate my own challenges and perspectives and hopefully give other people the space to find themselves in or involve themselves in my work."

<h4>Her artworks are mostly about women. What does femininity mean to you?</h4>
Fani Agisilaou: "What I find fascinating about this term is that it can mean different things to different people and be expressed in different ways. To me, femininity is a beautiful, complex thing that cannot be captured or pigeonholed .She changes as I get older, as my friends grow, as we show each other what she can look like.At this point in my life I would say that femininity involves being unashamedly vulnerable, brave and bold I find Femininity is more impressive when expressed on a female body as it contains the full story of what it means to be a woman in our society and what had to happen to change the norms and expectations for women.Femininity can be an empowering concept that allows individuals to embrace and express their unique identities and Ges to challenge gender norms and expectations."
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">How does your art create a mouthpiece for female sexuality?</h4>
Fani Agisilaou: "As a woman myself, in my art I present personal struggles and triggering events related to family, romantic relationships and the definition of identity. Consequently, I also present a part of this female sexuality. I also use the personal space of one People - for me the idea of "home&rdquo; is directly related to a person's sexuality. What I want to say is that there is no specific or direct message in my <a href="https://www.lofficiel.at/categories/art-and-culture">art</a> about female sexuality , and that's actually the whole idea behind it for me. My Work is mostly like a jigsaw puzzle or a story that has to be intentionally pieced together by the viewer to recognize and appreciate the female sexuality behind it."
<h4 style="text-align: justify;">Tell us more about your projects for this year!</h4>
Fani Agisilaou: " I recently conducted a series of interviews with some of my close friends. The questions are personal and are intended to help me create a series of portraits for each of the characters. The project is called "Womance" and it speaks for itself. Womance often characterized by mutual support, trust and respect, as well as a shared history and deep understanding of each other's experiences and perspectives, it can provide emotional comfort and a sense of belonging and can be especially important for women, who come from a variety of societal and social backgrounds cultural pressures related to relationships, family and career The intention of this project is to take a step back and remind us that the concept of femininity is complex and multifaceted and influenced by a variety of factors such as race, family, Ethnicity, class, religion and sexuality can be influenced."
