Zona Maco, the premiere art fair of Latin America, features four events, centering different areas of focus and mediums, including contemporary art, photography, antiques, and design&mdash;which centers around textiles, decorative objects, furniture, and jewellery. Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2024, this upcoming Mexico City Art Week at Zona Maco is set to be the biggest exhibition yet, with countless galleries, installations, live performances, and panels to attend. JO-OHS established its first gallery, located in the heart of Mexico City's San Miguel Chapultepec neighborhood in 2021, and has since emerged as a leading contemporary gallery and artist residency program. Coinciding with this year's art week is the exhibition of Emil Sands' solo installation, titled "Encounters", which features a series of paintings and sketches of male protagonists, detailing male bodies and their relationships to the people and places surrounding them.&nbsp;

Difane, a contemporary design gallery based in Mexico City, is hosting a collaborative exhibition, titled "Osseo", which explores the anatomy of the human body through the osseous structure, highlighting the unique strengths and intrinsic sculptural qualities of the many forms that bones take. Featuring the work of eight Mexican designers and artists, this exhibition showcases the innovation and creativity at work in the Mexican contemporary design scene.&nbsp;

Just before the beginning of Mexico City Art Week, Projet Mon&eacute; is opening its first-ever group exhibition, featuring 11 artists, including Alexa Perez Rea, Floria Gonz&aacute;lez, Izack Morales, and Makan Negahban, among others. Projet Mon&eacute;, headed by Georgina Villa and Amor Diaz, has previously hosted galleries and exhibitions in Los Angeles, Paris, and New York, and is headed next to Mexico City to bring together and celebrate a wide variety of artists and mediums.&nbsp;

Eduardo Sarabia's first solo exhibition at Galer&iacute;a OMR, titled Four Minutes of Darkness features a multi-medium installation that explores the moments that occur during a total solar eclipse, in which day suddenly turns to night. A large, stained-glass ceiling illuminates the space in an array of different colors and a sculptural garden constructed by Sarabia surrounds the viewer as they take in the unique, immersive space, reminiscent of Sarabia's blend of inspirations, which have roots in his ancestral history and his education in alchemical and mystical subjects.&nbsp;

In the installation collection With the South on my Back, Guatemalan artist Naufus Ram&iacute;rez-Figueroa explores dreams, stories, and historical narratives of Mesoamerica, specifically focusing on an artistic interpretation of significant historical events in the region and the artistic exchange between the Maya and Central Mexican civilizations. Paintings, sculptures, and carved <a href="https://preview.lofficielusa.com/beauty/benefits-of-infrared-sauna-light-detox" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wooden</a> pieces make up the collection, resulting in a collection abundant in colour, depth, and visually engaging pieces.&nbsp;

In celebration of Matte's first anniversary in Mexico City, the agency is partnering with local gallery JO-HS to host an exclusive concert series at Mimi Disco, an intimate nightclub in the heart of the city.
