On the occasion of his next solo exhibitions in New York and Paris, Daniel Arsham will commemorate the 20th anniversary of his collaboration with Emmanuel Perrotin. The artist will revisit his work to examine and reflect on his lifelong fascination with the complexities of materiality and space.

Daniel Arsham holds a special place in the heart of L'OFFICIEL, as we had the chance to collaborate with him on a special publication, on the occasion of his exhibition at MAMO, Ora Ito's art center in Marseilles.
Considered one of the most recognized names in <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/ibiza-s-contemporary-art-scene-how-new-communities-are-crystallizing" target="_blank" rel="noopener">contemporary art</a>, Arsham is renowned for visually transforming cultural objects into subtly weathered artifacts, showcasing the power of nostalgia by blending past, present and future.
In honor of his 20 years of representation by the Perrotin gallery, <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/portraits/break-to-make-the-new-collaboration-between-daniel-arsham-and-nendo-interview" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Daniel Arsham</a> will open a double exhibition at Perrotin Paris and in New York, entitled '20 Years | 20 years'.
Arsham will present entirely new works, including this series of busts and figurative sculptures in various metals cast in one piece.
Some artists defy categorization into a single artistic medium. They skilfully mix formats and experiment with materials, constantly pushing the boundaries of innovation. Daniel Arsham is undoubtedly one of these artists. His artistic journey is based on the dismantling of the boundaries that traditionally separate sculpture, architecture, performance and design.
His next <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/art/which-exhibitions-must-see-this-summer" target="_blank" rel="noopener">exhibition</a> '20 Years | 20 Years' is the largest exhibition he has created to date, to celebrate his 20 years of collaboration with Emmanuel Perrotin.
Highlights will include a new collaboration with Star Wars, paintings in a new thick material specially developed by Arsham to evoke the texture of Renaissance masterpieces; unpublished sketches on hotel stationery; manipulations of wall surfaces bearing motifs of falling clocks and veiled poems, as well as updated interpretations of Arsham's classical antiquity sculptures, and the launch of a new concurrent book.
Emmanuel Perrotin says: &ldquo;From the beginning of the gallery, our mission has been to make artists' projects possible, offering young artists the opportunity to produce their work. I met Daniel when he was 22, an emerging artist living in his studio, and was immediately drawn to his incredible talent and vision. Daniel's practice breaks the boundaries of fine art and exists in various sectors. As his success has grown, he has been able to keep his practice open to a wide audience, as a leader in edits, collaborations, and a widespread internet presence, which is admirable. It has been a pleasure growing up with Daniel, our gallery growing alongside his career.&rdquo;
Daniel Arsham declares: &ldquo;In this 20th year of collaboration and representation by Emmanuel Perrotin, I took stock of the journey I have traveled. I started out as a painter and many of the first exhibitions I did with Emmanuel were in that medium. As my interests and material palette have broadened, the gallery has supported my work across different media, disciplines and continents. I am delighted to unveil this new body of work which deepens my study of temporal desolation and the integration of all my diverse interests. I create things that I really want to exist in the world and hope it brings introspection and joy to others.&rdquo;
